****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

I do hope one of the announcements on the 19th will be about the retro games and the Wii store or whatever it is being implemented with the 3DS. Yeah you guys can tell I'm a massive fan of Nintendo and really up to date with the terms. :p

From what I've read the VC for the 3DS will be gameboy and other games from portable platforms, I don’t think they are doing home console games on it.


As for the battery life this is something you are just going to have to get used to, battery tech cant advance much more with what tech is available, with more powerful handhelds battery time are just going to keep dropping :(

I'm waiting on the price announcement with great anticipation, but I get the feeling Nintendo has forgotten what makes a great hand held.

Seemingly it has short battery life with long charge times, a high RRP and games which are region locked. It doesn't sound great really.

I'm going to wait and see how things go.
 
Just been googling and came across some threads suggesting that Pokemon Black/White may be compatible with this.

Anyone know any more?

Hope this is released before the 16th March. Will make a nice burfday present. :)

They should do as it's backwards compatible with DS games. :)
 
I hope the battery life is better than 5 hours, even if it means having to turn screen brightness down. I really liked having 15+ hours of battery life on my DS Lite.
I can see two cameras on the top of the case. Does this mean it can take 3D pictures?

Also OP, worth mentioning that DSiWare purchases are apparently transferable to it.
 
It's not that expensive really. The PSP was £179 at release and that was nearly 6 years ago.
That said I'll probably wait a few months for the price to drop before buying one :D unless it has some really amazing games.

If nintendo go over the £200 mark i would expect them to pack in a game like with the wii, still i would rather have it with out the game and a lower price.

I think that was about the price of the PSP Go when it came out, with a free game, or was it 3 free games plus GT PSP? I can't remember, anyway I think the 25,000 Yen price tag roughly converts to just under £200 so it's pretty possible it could be £220 and upwards, though it does seem very unlike Nintendo to do such a thing, but then this whole console in terms of hardware and capability is very unlike Nintendo too.
