**HTC HD2 Thread**

Just trying the MDJ 2.3 gingerbread, seems pretty stable and battery life is much improved, although it does have a few things not working, going to try another.

What is this squashed Desire HD you speak of, is it a stripped out version as we have less ROM?

Yeah it's stripped of most of the HTC Sense stuff. Download is here

Fun times ahead, now that the Clockwork recovery mod is out :D

Hi all,

For the last month the following have been happening:

1) When someone calls me, their number is not stored in the missed call list or the last dialled etc - only really old entries are displaying... very strange. Here is my call history screen - the last call was in the future apparently!

2) I constantly have a one new message notification. Even though I go in and read the message/delete the message there will always be this one 'unread' message - spookily the contact it is appearing on is my ex boyf (which makes it worse!).

In the last month I have upgraded the ROM to the newest version which improved the speed etc but these things have been occuring since then - also running Winmob.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks :)

how do these stack up, i know they have been around for about a year but im looking for a way to give android a shot and these look like cracking phones and the videos of these running android look like it runs it very very well.

are all the features working on android and how does this stack against the desire hd as it doesnt look as though there is much between them. im using a samsung omnia 7 at the moment so spec wise there doesnt eem to be miles between them either.

I really rate android on the HD2, I'm now running a NAND build which basically replaces the Winmo Rom, the build I'm using isn't 100% yet but have used other builds that work very well, GPS blue tooth wifi etc.

I've tried a desire HD and thought that the HD2 had a better feel to it, very strong and slab like.

I'm selling my HD2 at the moment (ebay auction finishes in 3 days) so I need to stick a stock ROM on there. It's already got HDSPL with an Energy ROM etc on there so can someone point me to a guide to reverting back to the latest stock?

I've also said it can run Android so I might stick a dual booter and a version of Android on the SD card. Again, if someone count point me to a guide that'd be brill.

i used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=347299&d=1277158888 to revert back to a stock spl 2.08.0000 then flash a stock htc rom,
just down load an sd build rom from the hd2 android development forum and copy the contents usually and android folder and then follow the instruction in the thread, you might need to upgrade the radio to 2.x.50 to get it to run android it will get stuck on the first boot if your radio is too old.

I've just bought a cheapo desktop cradle for my HD2 - somehow it looks pretty good!

Especially using the Android desktop clock thingy :D

I would be interested to hear more about peoples experiences with Android on NAND... would also like to hear any recommendations for a decent sense build.

I am still currently running Android from SD (MDJ Froyo Sense Revolution), everything works perfectly and the only issue is the occasional few seconds freeze when waking up from lockscreen. I have heard that this issue is resolved with NAND and that battery life is also much improved...but since I have everything working perfectly at the moment I might hang on until there is a decent NAND sense build that has everything working perfectly.

Right, after trying many versions of Android, and struggling to find one that was fully stable with no issues, I have taken the plunge and I am now running, wait for it...

WINDOWS PHONE 7 on my HD2!!!

Everything working, including live services.

DarkForcesTeam have released a working ROM and after a few tweaks (Dev Unlock, XAP installer, TouchXPlorer and a reg edit), it seems fully functional!

AWESOME! Google DFT WP7 ROM (the DFT site is in Chinese but if you use Google Chrome, it'll autotranslate for you)

Got a new Desire from work, and will use it until the newer phones are released later in the year.

The upside? I can get £160 for my HD2 from those websites :D

I'm also running windows phone 7, don't have the live services enabled yet, will do that in the morning. Extremely impressed, it appears to be absolutely full speed!

Do you have a link to the download of the Windows 7 ROM?

Also very interested in this. Link?

I'm running Android from NAND (MDJ Cyanogen 2.3) flashed last night so its had a full days use so far:

-Battery life is slightly better than SD versions, quite a bit of data usage and a few calls and some texts was on about 10% by 6pm, similar usage on SD versions required a recharge around 4pm.

-Much more responsive, very slick and smooth to run. Just seems a bit more fluid, no lag on screen on/off etc

They were the main issues I had with the SD variants. Going to try some other builds once things mature a bit more.
