how many people have moved from desires to the DHD? When we were buying the Galaxy S for my gf i asked to look at the desire HD and was massively underwhelmed, mainly with the screen. next to an amoled and super amoled it looked AWFUL, grey infact on what should be black menus. Shame really as i was going to get one :\

Sitting looking at a omni 7 samoled display and the dhd slcd, the samoled is nice but the dhd display is a decent display, good enough that I'm thinking of pitching the omni 7 and I won't be too sad that I don't have it any more
I did and I can honestly say that I really haven't noticed any difference between the screens.

How do people have Android 2.3 on their HD? Where do I download it? How do I get it?
well i done a little research, got my dhd rooted, security off and clockwork mod on and got ahold of the latest gingerbread cyanogen 7 mod and flashed away.
have to say i love it, with all the 3 and htc carp gone the phone feels a little nippier, smoother if you will. liking the customizing and getting to grips with adw and launcher pro etc, really think ill be putting my omnia 7 on ebay in the next few days!
there is still a "3" splah screen as the phone is turned on, how do i go about riddng the phone of this? also whats the best site for unlock codes?

You know, I flashed my old Universal with 3 different custom ROMs over the years, it STILL has the Orange splashscreen!
Could you be kind enough to post the links you used to do this as I am looking into doing the same thing.

At full brightness the DHD's screen looks lovely. Problem is it lasts about five minutes at full power.

Ha. I'm aiming for 1000 hours uptime, and seeing as it's as nippy now as it ever is then I shouldn't have any trouble getting there. My only worry is if the battery dies and I'm not near a charger.
Does anyone know if turning it off (with the fast boot etc, so essentially on standby) resets the uptime?
I got one just before Christmas and spoke to a guy who said they weren't selling them yet. Best to give them a ring for the most up to date information.

Im with O2 and they wont stock the DHD as they are pushing the W7 Mobiles.
I had to go through a 3rd Party, i went through e2save Mobiles and they were brilliant, just upgraded my current contract over to the new phone keeping same number etc, it was a doddle and had the phone within two days of ordering it
Could you be kind enough to post the links you used to do this as I am looking into doing the same thing.

i tried doing this with phones4u other week but because my contract does not run out untill aprill it wouldnt let me upgrade via a 3rd party.
but yet o2 will let me upgrade my contract 3 months early.
My contract (18 months) had already lapsed when i did the upgrade with e2save, so it just went straight though with no questions asked.
Guess you will have to either wait until your contract is due for renewal.
