Have my new Sandy Bridge

I thought everybody here was into computers. Guess not.

Milkybk... Shut up. :p

+1, all this negativity only cuz guy bought components not from OCUK,, I see weirdness in comments...

Especially since I need a magnifying glass to be able to view it.

Stop being lazy, point mouse to a signature and left-click with mouse ;):p

Have fun with your new components C2C
;)

Most of the posters in this thread remind of a bunch of women fighting with their handbags!

" no you did'nt, you bought from somewhere else you two timing bi*th! "

Right I have done a few simple computer benchmarks on my q6600 but I used my windows 7, as it can see all my RAM.

As I have said before, I am not a PC gamer, so have only done 3d mark just to see what it's like. If The FPS are poor, then it's likely it is my graphics card.

So am going to get the Q6600 benchmarks out the way now. I will then build my new 2600k and redo the same tests on the new pc. Will build PC when I get chance to.

Constructive comments welcome but immature comments will be ignored. Thank you. :)

Nice Sandy Bridge build. The MSI boards seem to be remarkably popular. Thought most would head down the route of Asus or Gigabyte. What RAM are you using? Are you planning on overclocking that i7 2600k?

As your not a game is this for a work pc or just home / general use?

Ps who cares where you bought the components from as long as you get good delivery/customer service/price!!

Looking forward to some more pictures and benchmarks.

Hi.

My current PC has a asus motherboard with a bad nvida chipset. So though I would try another brand out. I have heard about some issues with the new asus 1155 boards, so that put me off a bit to.

Will be using Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM when I put the new 2600k together. I will be overclocking the 2600k but will leave it as stock for a while to start with. I won't push it to far though, after what I have seen on here. Lol

I use my PC for the everyday boring stuff but I use it for video editing, photoshop etc. Thats why I bought the 2600k, as that is best for that. Plus it's more future proof with hyper threading.

Thanks very much. :)

Why didn't you get the 2500k and more ram ?

Because I do video editing and encoding. All the reviews show that the 2600k is best for that. The 2500k is best for gaming. 4GB RAM is fine for me plus i'm still using 32bit windows, which only supports max 4GB.

See here for the comparison, tests.

Only the 980x is better in some tests. Anyway for the price I bought it at, it were worth it.

I have started to put the CPU fan and memory together. It, not inside my tower just yet. Will hopefully do that tomorrow. A few pictures to show you.

Has ATX 8 pin now replaced the ATX 4 pin? Edit. Don't worry, it needs more power, thats why. :)

Inside my current pc. Lots of cables.

Just started only CPU placed in the motherboard.

Give that case a clean and tidy the wires :).

Thats his old setup ;).

Once he has took out all the old components he can give it a good clean. I would take out everything anyway and wipe with a slightly damp cloth and towel dry. I know how dusty any case can get. Even my Silverstone TJ09 gets really dusty every week, filters would help a lot such as this 120mm filter from OCUK. Not sure what case you have but they do 80/120/140mm filters.
