So I've been looking for a job for ages, and I've found one in the paper but the downside is it's 18 miles away (by car) and I don't drive so it could be a bit of trouble to get there on the plus side it's £6.97/hr +bonus.

Just want some thoughts to whether I should phone up and enquire about the job or not

18 miles? is there a bus route? how much in a taxi? likely hood that someone there lives near you? Bike it?

It's a job at the end of the day, of course you should go for it :)

weigh up cost of commute against how much you'll actually earn, then ask yourself is it worth it.

If public transport to it is fine then I would. If the transport is a ballache and will cost a lot then I'd reconsider if it's what I wanted to do.

I've been told there is a bus that goes that way but not too sure, Taxi would probably be a rip off :p and I don't have a bike :( I could always ask my brother but he could be at work

True, Might give them a call

Edit: Where could I check the costs for buses etc?

Just on the bus company's website and is bloody confusing, not helpful at all :/ will keep looking though

You found 1 (one) in the paper? If you need a job you should be applying for everything you see. Some people apply for hundreds of jobs before getting interviews.

Good luck all the same, and get a bike.

All you need is a map of the area and bus timetables. If you're really lucky, you might stumble across a combination of the two on the bus company's website.

My commute runs close to 90mins each way on the bus, costs £200 for a 3month pass.

That seems a lot? or is it just me?

I would ask my Dad for help but he's being a complete %£"^

I worry about the future of our country.

Some people don't use buses, in fact, other than park and rides I've never used one. I could figure out how probably but I've never had too.

I travel 30 miles a day round trip, and it costs me £150 in petrol a month working 4 on 2 off. add to that tax, insurance, running costs and MOT and yes, it's just you :D

ohh, and buying the car in the first place.

£200 for 3 months of 90 minute bus journeys is a bargain considering the hilariously high cost of single - or even day return - bus tickets. £200 would barely see you a month in singles.

I've tried ringing and there's no answer, will have to wait until monday.

I've been shown where it is, and it's not that far and luckily there is almost a bus stop outside so I can catch the Bus there, Will need to figure out prices etc.

I suppose I thought £200 was a lot because I don't have any money but if I got the job it shouldn't seem too bad

Learn to drive then or "if that's too expensive!" get on your pushbike.
It's an hours ride at most at a steady pace
