ok, im installed my fenrir onto my PC.

my temps are :

my PC Specs:
Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366)
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (CMX6GX3M3A1600C9)
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
Asus ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD1002FAEX)
Corsair HX 650W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650HXUK)
Coolermaster Storm Scout Gaming Case - Black
BenQ G2420HDBL 24" Widescreen LED Monitor

my PC isnt overclocked..everything at stock settings

is this the correct temps i should be getting??

did i install it correctly?

All looks fine from that image. Will need to stress test it to confirm.

My i7 920 [email protected] is currently idling at 34 degC with Titan Fenrir too. (Although its pretty nippy in my room at the moment).

Which direction have you mounted the HSF?

Give it a run of Prime95.

Idle temps look fine. Stress it, and then check the temps. That's the best way to check if a cooler is working properly.

Difficult to comment. Need to know who long Prime95 was running. Looks perhaps a little warm considering its at stock speed. Let it run for a few hours at stock settings before overclocking.

Nice build too, got a very similar rig myself.

for stock speed, that looks pretty hot. What voltage is it running at? For temps like that I would expect the voltage for be at least 1.4 if not higher. I have a fenrir too, and i get temps like that when overclocked to 3.8 with 1.4v. use CPU-Z to check your voltage. if the voltage is lower than 1.4, that I would suggest reseating/pasting your heatsink.

lol..i ran prime95 for like...1min? 0.0!

and is this it? the voltage?

so..im guessing i placed the fenrir wrong/not properly? (it was my first time) =/

so should i reseat the fenrir again?

you definitely have problems somewhere. your temps should not be any higher than 60. I would reseat the heat sink, definitely.

Read up on how to apply TIM to heat pipe cooler it is NOT the same as a normal cooler, you need to fill the gaps and use more then the pea method or line. Will be due to this and a bad mount mate :)

i would recommend following this guide for direct touch heatpipe coolers like the fenrir http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.p...sk=view&id=170&Itemid=38&limit=1&limitstart=5

ok i read up on that..

things are quite new to me =(

so judgeing from my understanding..

i should go with the double line method?
as it covers most of the pipes and provides more transfer of heat between the CPU and cooler?

also...whats TIM and HDT? 0.0 (jus wandoring lol..since i dunno what they are or mean)

you only need a single line across the chip, deffo reseat i have the original Fenrir and mine primes at 60c with specs in sig

TIM is Thermal i***something Material lol
HDT is Heatpipe Direct touch, means the heatpipes are actually touching the heat pad on the processor,

another thing to ask, what orientation is the fan blowing? take a look on one side should be some little arrows ideally you want air flowing from front to back ;)

Yep, you definitely shouldnt be getting those temps on stock speeds, so yeah looks like you may need to reseat as well as "possibly" change the orientation of the fan, ensure that you have it in the correct position.

you only need a single line across the chip,

No no no, no offence but this not how you apply tim to this type cooler, if it worked for then your very lucky, i have 3 direct coolers and have the tim set like the above article with no problems, aslo RJ did a write up somewhere on here if you have a search :)

you will also fine the x4 dont get hot hence good temps with your fenrir use the sam line method on i7 and watch it melt :P

lol the method works fine for me, and prior to having a Fenrir running a 3.6Ghz overclock on my X4 with 1.475Volts pushed through the chip gets plenty hot ;)

eh?

ok...not understand xD

how should i apply my thermal paste? (artic MX-4) (gimme a guide or the method)

my fan? (on the picture i posted above..the fan was facing like this: (thefront was facing my CD drive bay and the back facing my fenrir)

i took my fenrir out for a reseat..the paste was like this: (blobbed on a grain of rice like others said.):

so my problem i think is my lack of using the thermal paste properly?

do a line, the blob method dont always work and in your case it hasn't, that might explain the high temps, only half the cooler is making contact
