So i had never played a MGS game until 4 on the PS3. And to say im blown away by it is an understatement.

Sure its not as slick as say the latest CODBO or whatever, but id honestly rate this game as the best single player experience ive had on PS3 so far with any game.

The guns, the close quarters and the 'strategy;' are very compelling. Id definitely recommend this game to anyone who has a PS3 and has not ventured there yet.

Infact im going back now and trying to find MGS3 Subsistance on PS2 so i can go and complete that too..

Yes the cut scenes are a bit long and some wimpy but the bosses are pretty cool. The Visuals are amazing and the game is an overall 9/10.

Enjoy its on classic for like £12

I'm sorry to say this but while 4 is still amazing, it's nothing compared to the 1st one. If you truly want to appreciate the story and the game, play from the 1st game to the last.

i agree with buchtis! i have all of them they are fantastic games! i even played they the right way round. 3,1,2,4 ! O/P if you ps3 allows you to play ps2/1 games grab the other 3

I'm about 3/4 through this at the moment. It is really good but has its faults. there's a little bit too much sneaking around towards the start of the game and the cutscenes are just too long. I've put it on before to have a quick hour on it but found myself dropped straight into a 30min cutscene.

MGS4 isnt just one of the best games of this generation, Its one of my favourite games, ever! Along with Resident evil 2, various final fantasy games and ofcourse the original MGS on PSX. Fantastic game

The original Metal Gear Solid 1 was the best one. I remember playing it on PS1 and was blown away by the atmosphere, the story, the dialogues etc. Awesome game . I must have played it 10 times :D.

I got fed up with it, struggled to keep up with the story and the cut-scenes were just too much.

I enjoyed #1 and #2 though.

MGS 4 is one of the best games that I've ever played and will forever remain in my top 10 games list. Yeah a lot of people moan abiout the length of the cut scenes but to me it just added too the game. It was like an interactive Anime cartoon :) sheer brilliance. I was actually gutted when I completed it, I just hope we see Solid Snake in another Metal Gear game in the near future.

And if you can definitley get yourself MGS3: Subsistence its on par if not better than MGS 4. I bought a PS2 especially to play MGS3 not so long ago :P.....Snake Eaterrrrrrrr!!

Also if yo can try getting hold of MGS2 ON the PC. You can play it on Win 7 however it runs better on XP. Played it at 1920x1080p on my 32" Sony, it looked great upscaled and better than the PS2. Even played it with a PS2 to PC adapter that allowed the pressure sensitive button to work with the guns like the Mk2.

More Metal Gear games plx

Hi, i have MGS2 that i bought for the PS2 'Sons of Libery' but i come to re open the case and there is no main game disc:/ it means i either left it in my phat PS3 when i traded it in, or its out there somewhere and i have no ideas.

Sadly i now have ps3 slim, but i do have a PS2 somewhere but i also have a PSX - USB adapter.

I dont know if i can go back and play psx1 game now on HDTV they do look really terrible, i did try to PSP it but i sold my psp too...

Ill try to find my MGS2 disc and start there and then hit up MGS3 i think.

Personally hated every second of it, not one redeeming feature.

MGS1/Snake Eater are amongst my favourite games, 2 and 4 just didn't do anything for me.

I've got too many things to say about this game so to keep it short and sweet I'll just say it's one of the very best that I've ever played.

Its just an amazing experience I found just feels epic to be playing it. Just killed some vamp dude and its all gone a bit robotics for me I love the more out doorset landscape where I can buy suppressor and slug everyone on the quiet.

I want more so mgs3 on way dang expensive for the subsistence version over the normal one?
