B&B Discrimination Case Ruling

The marriage issue was just a smokescreen for them to keep out gay people. In a business, they should not be able to discriminate and so the judgement was correct.

edit: if you want to moan about gay hotels then just try and book at one. I'm sure after this case that they won't refuse you, and if they do you can take them to court and easily win the case.

As above...Do you want all other 'gay only' hotels to be the same then?

so yes it is specifically for Gays only and not mixed or hetero's as stated.

Well if I was spiteful, I'd report them to the authorities as you can't have one rule for one group and one for another.

But then I'm a live & let live kind of guy...

Frankly the couple should be allowed to accept whoever they wish, and the Gay couple should be able to stay wherever they wish. Which creates a quandary.

Too much political correctness I'm afraid, would the same judgement been upheld if the couple were heterosexual S&M adherents and were turned away?

There are Women Only and Gay Only B&Bs across Europe, why not Hereto only?

Becuase its only the white, straight and christian type that do wrong:confused: As a part of the group i just mentioned i feel disgusted that all other races, creeds and sexual preference are more important than mine. Try marrying into a jewish or muslim family or hindu for that matter.

"Religious freedom shouldn't be used as a cloak for prejudice."

2 sets of people playing their **** cards and the gays won. I hope that B&B becomes a gay hotspot and they get inundated with bumming.

I couldn't care less if there are Gay Only hotels, good luck to them if they wish to foster that environment for there patrons then fine. However the reverse is also true, as long as it is clearly in the T&C's then I see no discrimination.

If one is discriminatory (as the judgement found) then a moratorium should be placed on all Gay Only Hotels, Bars, Clubs and so on until the legislation that is obviously not fit for purpose is revisited and revised.

What would the outcome of been if the couple were "from the friendly religion"?

The people with stretched bum holes would have not won.

Indeed.

It doesn't actually. It does seem very carefully worded..."Shun these other hotels, they're not gay exclusive" but doesn't say anything about the hotel only accepting gay men.

So...like the owners B&B states then? :p

It just states un-married....if they are or are not aware of this then yeah..different story

There's a lot of rubbish in the first 20 or so replied to this thread I've bothered to read. The situation is as simple as it gets, the B&B is a business and as such can't discriminate as it did.
