OK, gay thread is gay. Now thats over with...

Why on Earth can I cannot find any muscle vests in sports shops? I managed to find just one Nike one in my size at JJB, nothing else anywhere.

Any tips on where I might find some? I prefer the real muscle vests with a relatively narrow shoulder strap so you can see more of whats going on when youre training. The wider shoulder covering ones are more readily available, but now what I want.

It all adds to the motivation when you see your pump :D

Oh my I think that's crossing the line right there ^^^ might want to blur/remove that or put a big smiley face over it or enjoy a short holiday!

I have some plain black vests that I train in I brought from topman about 5/6 years ago. 'Square neck' cut, not like the gay wierd vests you see 50cent wearing it's less of a circular neck line and a little more square. With shoulder straps about an inch thick or so. Can't for the life of me find anywhere that sells anything similar nowadays.

More or less like this:

But I generally don't tend to train in my underwear or lift it up like that. One session training in a t-shirt was enough reason for me to have only ever trained in vests since. For practability over vanity.

You could give somewhere like figleaves a try. Best bet is probably going to be by looking through mens underwear retailers etc.

heh, bennyC what's so bad about t-shirts? You sound traumatised.

g4orce when you say you want to see more of the action, do you mean like a wrestler style with the nipples outside the shoulder straps? I'm being serious btw.

I just find whenever I did anything it'd always ride up or get stuck up round my ribs, like when doing pullups or pulldown. And then ater each set have to re-adjust it, reaching round each shoulder etc. Constantly pulling the sleeves down just began to annoy me in the end. Also I guess I can see if my shoulders are level and that I've not 'skewed' during a pressing movement.

A lad I trained with once wore one of these, bit distracting spotting when you've got your TP's nipples staring back at you in the mirror!

Yeah I get what you mean, I guess I am just used to it. Like shifty I wouldn't feel comfortable in a vest really.

That made me chuckle, I have had that with someone doing bench press before. (nipple exposure)

Always trained in the same tshirts...which are rather tight on my now, never had an issue? I'd lose all confidence in a vest :p

You'd be surprised mate, I was the same until I had the confidence to put a vest on. It certainly lets you appreciate your progress rather than hiding it under a t-shirt.
