Brothers new XJ Jag.

Wish I was at home so I could see the pics (damn work filter!!) Love the look of these though, had the town mayors one parked up at the neighbours last week for some unknown reason, not sure of the enginge but was a LWB, looked absolutely stunning in black (except for the stupid mayor emblem thing they put on the front doors). Jealous of your bro, I wanna be rich!!
 
I like it a lot, always liked the XJs from way back.
But is it me or does it look similar body style to a Citroen C8? Thats no bad thing IMO...
 
Your pics stil arn't as bad as tbl, but close :p

Car looks nice but the gunmetal colour with black leather interior and wood looks an awful lot nicer! Blue and light leather just looks a little cheap.

Over all positive reaction then really, i thought there would be more shape haters.

I think the interior wins people over, which i suppose is the bit that counts, if only they had done something else instead of make it look like a hatch back, that car would have been a winner with a more defined boot.
 
I do think its a horrible shape TBH, the side profile and rear are just boring and forgettable.
Much prefer the old shape, however I will say they manage to make it look ridiculously long compared to the old one, even though its only an inch or so bigger!
 
Lovin' the Jaguar love in this thread. Still deciding what to do with the D pillar blacking on the refresh ;)

Which Aston?

Cos in this range its a totally different car that would be a competitor to the XK not XJ.
 
The 4 door Aston which is this cars only sort of equivalent start at 145k so with a few options thats twice the price exactly of the Jag.

Yes the Aston looks better but is it twice the car the Jag is i wonder? Iv never seen one in the flesh to be honest nor obviously driven one so i dont know, but i would say it would need to be some car to be worth 2 of these Jags.

If it was up to me i would do away with the rear 1/4 light and make that the back pillar with a pronounced boot, like the old XJ's.

Its quieter, i dunno id love to say its just as good because you know i love Jags, but its not, say what you like about a Bentley, there is still something about them.

Saying that though my brother who could have absolutely any car he wanted because that man is caked chose the Jag, so that says something.

I saw one yesterday near Baker Street, and it took a double take to realise it wasn't a DB9. Looked great and sounded bloody superb, looked slightly longer than a DB9. Driver was an idiot though and almost crashed it twice that I saw pulling out from junctions in front of taxis, and before anybody says it's because of the bonnet length this was stuff coming from the right with nothing blocking his view.
