The Peak District Advice...

I want to take my wife away for 2-3 nights to the peak district. Not had any time to ourselves with having 4 kids so think we are long over-due some time together, but I have no idea on which hotels / cottages / etc are the best at a good price. Can someone recommend a few please? Looking at going beginning on May :-)

I stay in Castleton in the North Peaks quite a bit. There are 6 pubs, some of which do B&B - I think the Cheshire Cheese is the nicest - http://www.cheshirecheeseinn.co.uk.

Plenty to do in the area as well - nice walking, great cycling and 4 show caves/mines to go down.

Not stayed there, but had a meal there - lovely place.

And yes, Castleton is probably your best bet with plenty to do in the surrounding area.

Just looking for a hotel near big countrysides to go walking and have a picnic with the wife, just dont know many places so if anyone else knows any, let me know

We're staying here in a few weeks : Peaks Inn. Plenty of walking around Castleton / Hope. Stop in the at the famous Woodbine Cafe in Hope for tea & cake.
