Is PSN Going down the pan

Alright fellow ocukers,

i converted to the ps3 religion only a few months ago and was unjoying it untill now, i like to play cod online but last few weeks its been not possible:rolleyes:

at one point i was flying i thought i seen it all untill today when some **** had 2 pistols and they were rocket launchers lol funny foir the first 2 minutes but after that it just got boring

is it all over? do you think sony will fix it

i have read many conspiarcy stories on the internet...

Ie blu ray disk codes ect making the game onl,y work on 5 machines :(

what happens if u have tons of friends? and u wanna take ur game around to thers and you can't because of the code impoacation :\

is it time to jump back ship? :confused:

what do you guys think
 
Its not the PSN its COD.

ive seen a lot about how cod developers are sayings its imposable to stop cheats due to the recent sony key release. This doesn't float with a lot of people as it just makes it easier not something that has enabled it.

Google the cheat videos on youtube and you will surprised how much they can do!
 
TheVoice is right, I don't need to go into details with what's wrong with COD black ops but I think we all know there are serious issueS, I wouldnt point the blame at the PSN for this.

My biggest issue with PSN at the moment is that the plus acount is a joke, I pay for the subscription and they dont offer enough for its "paying customers"
 
ahh thats good so it;s only affecting cod atm?:)

other that that really i have had no problems that black ops campaine was a joke LOL:)


time to put it opn the bay! :cool: get money for it whilst i can then :)
 
wow, so whats going on, PS3 is now hackable? Code etc. Are they clamping down banning consoles ids, like MS do over Live?

We all know why the PS1 was so easy to pirate but that is another thread, every console gets hacked, one way or another, remember the gamecube (god disc) that was unhackble bar a legit Datel disc

Its going to happen, when it does make sure you are clued up
 
Essentially, you can now get onto PSN on a jailbroken console running backup games, which basically means you can mod the game and still play online. Obviously, they never saw this coming and have zero cheat protection, which is why it will be rife with cheaters.
 
It isn't just Cod, any game code can be changed, it's just that cod is the most played online game at the moment so it's more noticable, the whole of the PSN has been compromised so no game on playstation is safe

It's a huge ball ache for sony and from what I have read the only thing that can stop it is constant firmware updates like the psp and iphone and even then that only deters for a couple of days
 
It's because CoD relies on platform security. The devs can implement their own security for future games. PSN is not down the pan. :)

But as soon as a developer releases their security there will be people working on a new firmware that circumvents it and it will be installable within a week,

It's the same on the psp and the iphone, the PS3 has finally lost the battle, I am surprised it took this long tbh

Microsoft have the same problem but they avoid this on live because they can ban an account that you have to pay for, on PSN there is nothing stopping people signing up for a free account which has full access to host games, once they host a game they can do whatever they want

Although I can agree that they can put their own security in, I'd suspect that if Sony doesn't provide some kind of fix/solution (such as accurate banning etc) they may be liable for their extremely poor cryptology methods.

The one thing to remember with COD is that a save game hack has been out for ages that the developers may have also been able to fix.

Why can't they just ban the console?
 
Sloppy from sony if they didnt implement a code to a console/user plus the demand for new users they just cant ban anyone signing up, will take time, MS do what 2/3 bans a year, probably why MS can get 360s locked out because of the original xbox and piracy and hardware mods.

This looks like its software mod and that is non detectable via the internet unless they have something that can pick it up. I remember the freeloader on the gamecube you could play imports then copies, the gamecube was online but you could do what you wanted with the imports/backups.
