Just got a new system too from Ocuk, thing is no matter what game i play beit Mafia2, bfbc2 or even WOW, their is no passion or interest at all:(, after a couple of minutes of play i have to exit the game.

I don't like the fact i've lost the bug:(, suppose i should give it a break for a while and come back, what do you guys think?

Crysis is a good game no doubt, (until you get to the silly floating about in the alien bit)

I too have lost interest, I am constantly looking to upgrade my PC to do nothing more than office and Youtube!

I am really looking forward to The Witcher 2 however.

Wan't too impressed with Mafia 2 and haven't played BFBC2 or WOW but I suppose it depends on what types of games you like.

What was the last game you played that you really enjoyed?

Here is a list of some of the games that I really enjoyed playing and highly recommend - ones that when I started playing I couldn't stop playing, are:

Bioshock
Dead Space
Darksiders
Deathspank
Mirrors Edge
Metro 2033
Dragon Age
Fallout 3
The Witcher
Serious Sam HD
GTA 4 & Episode from Liberty City
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Singularity

Or maybe you've gone off gaming completely - something I don't ever see happening to me.

I stopped for almost a year and half before Starcraft 2 came out :)

Its true you just need a decent game... only issue is it take take anyware from 1 year to 3 or 6 years for a decent game to arrive...

Heck ive got Starcraft 1 loaded which ive started to play... still got black ops which ive started... and now my m8s told me how awesome mass effect 1 and 2 is by the time ive managed all that in 6-10 weeks time we will have DNF and Crysis 2.....

If you're asking on a computer enthusiasts' forum whether you should take a break from PC gaming, the answer is probably 'yes'. A few months out of the loop isn't going to kill you, and you can get yourself mentall prepared for Duke Nukem, Diablo III, Deus Ex and all the other great games coming this year - even the ones that don't start with a D.

ur not the only one, im also losing the passion for it and do exactly the same but its not just pc gaming its console also. Dont know why but i just cant seem to play anything at the moment apart from football manager11

gotta say between sc2 and crysis coming out i didnt play much else, infact those two are the ones i keep going back to,

crysis before floaty alien and warhead are really good, just plain fun. not so looking forward to crysis 2, :/

sc2 i find quite difficult getting all the achievements, hard enough to need multiple trys not so hard as i get too bored, loved the protoss missions particularly.. especially that last one and the achievement on hard!

im also after metro, mass effect and a couple of others due to recs on here

annoyed by drm tho cause steam downloads are a no go for me

There's no passion from developers anymore as the world and it's people got greedy where the only thing that matters is money :(

Everything is just a rehash. Nothing is original as what can be done already has been done. (this applies to just about everything in life, not just games)

Also, it might be possible that games have got stale depending on your age. You'll tend to find children can sit and play games for long periods and hold their attention, however, as you get older you change and games no longer give you the same buzz, if any. You probably need to get a hobby or two as clearly you are expecting games to rid the boredness away when the actual problem is that the games are boring. It's just life.

This happened to me and I didnt expect it.

I also needed a new motherboard at the time, so I had a few weeks away from the pc and didnt play any games at all as I dont own a console.

When I got my pc working again I was still not feeling like it but the feeling did gradually come back, I think I went back to some old games I remembered enjoying and I played some games which I hadn't devoted much time towards.

I'm back now though

I lost interest in PC gaming and it was the best thing I did! Lost loads of weight, took up outdoor sports and became a lot more healthy. Then again I was using the PC every evening and not doing much else at the time.

I'm still tempted to build a system and play Armed Assault 2 again as that was fantastic when we played it on the OCuk server back in the day. It was so atmospheric! Shame about all the bugs, but when it worked it was great!

I lost the bug when I started college 2 years ago :(

But after buying BFBC2 in the Steam sale it reminded me so much of BF2 I couldnt help but look forward to playing it when I got home!

Although sometimes ill boot it up for 5 mins when bored then quit 5 mins later, after finding an awesome clan with a cool bunch of guys, cant wait to get on TS and have a bit of banter and be rubbish at it :D

The right games are few and far between. For single player gaming, I now want engaging works of fiction. I would say I've played - maybe 4 games in the last decade that I think stand up well in that regard.

Most game storylines are rubbish. Games have so much unrealised potential as a storytelling medium.
