hi just a quickie, i downloaded the demo of LBP2 for the ps3 as never tried the 1st one, so had a quick go on this.
What is all the hype about ?

all i found was a teddy bear that you move around a game, sort of platform game, getting from a-b.

Is that it ? apart from the fact i believe you can also build your own levels?

or am i missing something. just didnt impress me really the demo on ps3

No you are not missing anything, I felt the same way about the first game and the new demo, others love it though :)

It is a platform game....

But once the guys who know what they are doing get hold of the lvl editor it's so much more!

Girls love it and it's so easy to pick up and play with 4 friends at a party or the like.

Good game :p

i've always thought of it as an average platform game with some absolute brilliant user created levels (and many more times poor levels) let down by poor controls.

I remember playing the MP beta of the first one with oc users. It was some of the best online gaming I've ever experieced. Sadly, I never got into the retail version. I racked up probably over 40 hours in the beta and got kinda bored near the end. Was fun while it lasted.

I know it's pretty much the same but have a go on the first LBP and see how you like it, to start with I found it boring but after I got into it I really liked it also the online is good and a change.

Do try and have a play of the first one if you can. I really like the first, but found the demo for LBP2 a bit underwhelming from a creative point of view.

I don't get it either. It seems to be a mediocre platformer with a good editor. Great if you want to design levels, I guess, but it doesn't seem to be worth buying if you're after gameplay.

The game play comes alive when you have 2-4 players. All helping each other out through the levels and slapping each other etc. I guess some people just don't get it. Like marmite I guess.

The first one was pretty good and I probably put 20-30hrs into it, but my daughters have both put 100+ hrs into it easily (mostly playing the community levels).

The second one sounds fantastic, and after playing the demo I cannot wait to get stuck in and see what the community can offer.

Definately one game that offers endless entertainment for your money.

Had a choice of this or Mass Effect 2 on PS3, went with ME2 although it does look like a fun sort of game....

Maybe when the price drops a bit... Too much into Gt5 and ME2 at the moment..lol
