Becoming more talkative

I went the other way and realised that I don't give a crap about these random people, their lives or whatever. So I don't even bother. :D

I'm the same, i can keep conversation going all night if it's with people I know but new people I just don't know what to say, unless I drink then it's fine.

It doesn't even matter, I find the ones that don't shut up very annoying so don't try to be something your not. If your both on similar wave lengths talking is easy, but if your not then not worth the effort sometimes.

I carry a few of these sponge balls with me:

I pick them up off the floor near the person I want to chat to, and ask them if they dropped it. - Usually starts a good conversation (may only work if you are a magician).

Quite funny considering all the friends you now have (or maybe you don't have any :p ) were once just 'these random people' :p

You either do one of 2 things:

1 - Talk about something you know about and like to talk about
2 - Learn to fake it and pretend

I don't drink alcohol, so most parties are pretty boring, where I'm sitting alone in the corner watching drunk people shouting at each other. So, I've almost stopped going to them.

Haha, in a way I suppose. It's just that random encounters generally don't interest me. I have no real desire to walk up to some person and start talking about their lives. The friends I have are usually from work, or from University - being put together like that meant I guess we *had* to make friends.

Maybe I'm just a loner. Nothing wrong with that.
