Crysis!

Here you go, default Crysis :) anything else?

Personally I deem a 5850 running crysis at 30fps with full settings, a pretty capable card at 'maxing' it.

haha, so now I've posted benchmark evidence of my 5850 getting 30fps average - which earlier was disputed and challenged - it has now shifted back to "but you said a 5770 could also max it!"

Deary me.

I never said anything about your 5850, I challenged your post that said a 5770 could max it, which it cant.

For the record, your 5850 cant max it either, 23 min fps is by no means maxing it.

not optimal fps for your monitor imo better than a 60fps on a 60hz though but i would still consider 60fps on a 60hz maxed out

It probably would be better, however logic in this thread suggests despite it being better, it wouldn't be maxing it so therefor you could not claim such a thing.

Didn't max it at all. That's not default Crysis at all, what happens if you leave time of day blank and what happened to the ice level?

So if you're going by min' fps, rather than average, that means until we have cards that get no less than a 60fps minimum then we can't be maxing crysis - or any game for that matter.
However that will only really make sense when we all have monitors that are 120hz+ so that refresh rates are higher than 60.

Your logic has so many holes in it :(

What do you mean thats not default? ToD is set to 9 - exactly the same as yours, and I didn't run the Ice bench because you're getting higher averages in that than the default crysis, so i assumed the default bench would be a good enough indicator.

Im going by a solid frame rate, which many many games have without dropping frames.

Its your logic that is flawed, once again mistaking graphic settings for maxing out rather than the full game.

I cant max out crysis on my pc, it @ 4.2ghz, GTX580, 8gb ram, alienware 3d monitor, I can get 55-65fps most of the time, but it will drop down in intense areas to 40 odd.

I dont see why you are getting so het up about it, you made a statement that a 5770 could max crysis which is obviously cant, forget about it, move on, its not that important you made a claim you got wrong and keep moving goalposts to be able to say "see Im right!"

proof that a 5770 cant max out crysis.

with no AF - min frame rate on very high 17.2.

Maxing out = running a game on maximum settings and it being at a playable framerate - i.e. at least 30FPS, or 60 if it's a game that is designed to run at 60. Like SFIV and Call of Duty games.

End of.

The fact that you think because your 580 drops to 40fps means it isn't maxing out the game is just beyond idiotic. I'll just leave it at that.

im not sure why your so defensive about agueing this unbelievably mute point....the 5850 is better then the 5770 last time i checked and i would hardly call that maxing out. yes you may have an average playable 30fps, but the min is in the early 20s! that is no way a playable game..

you most certainly are nowhere near maxing the game out if you dont even have the min frames at 30 - unless of course maxing out a game means watching a slideshow to you.

How juvenile.

"I'll leave it at that", being I'm no longer willing to discuss what fps conditions 'maxing' it out has.

However, I'll happily wait for people calling 20-25fps a slideshow to show me the slideshow in a 20fps video.

An average of 30fps and a minimum of 20fps, and you're saying that it's 'no way a playable game'
