Great pics!

The one with the Mustang overtaking the... Lotus? with the flames out the back, looks like it needs a caption.

Blackhawk47, I think you need a cold shower before you get accused of grooming OcUK members. First Fox and now Housey and sigma

If I remember rightly the actual crash wasn't too bad, he just couldn't disengage the steering wheel to get out of the cockpit. Poor bloke.

The one that did it for me was Jim Clark scratching his head while Chapman and Hill look on, none of them lived to see old age............

Thanks very much for sharing these pictures with us.

You got any background on this one Housey? I'm guessing it's an Audi publicity shot but I can place a couple of the cars to the rear.

The front row are the three Crossthwaite & Gardner recreations - the C Type, the C Type Rekordwagen and the 39 D Type. I think the right hand one in the middle is the restored Karasik '38 D Type and a wild stab at the left hand one would be the original C/D hill climber from Riga.

That leaves what looks like another C Type at the rear but I'm not sure where that's from. Allegedly there's one in the VAG museum but I'm not 100% sure that it's a different one from the front row C type.

EDIT: Got the middle row round the wrong way - just spotted the double tyres on the right hand one.

That Auto Union shot is a variant of one used in their 2011 Calender session - you can only get it from the Audi Heritage site.
