If you feel what these people were doing was wrong or right, that is still no reason for them and their families to be threatened with death and the like for doing their job.

This is no different to the people who worked for Huntingdon Life Sciences.
Of course some people do not like animal testing, but they didn't deserve to have their lives ruined by protestors.

Sorry, but from what I'm reading the people who threatened the lawyers are no different.
 
Didn't a County court Judge throw these copyright infringement file sharing cases out of court last month? Read about it somewhere.

I feel the threats against an individual and his family is a bit extreme considoring he is just doing his job... But I guess lawyers will get this a lot through thier careers.

Nuremburg is never a defence. Though there is a lot more to this case than that.
 
ACS law are crooks. My friends nan got a letter from them saying they had downloaded some porn something and they were not even in the country at the time. Also they turned off the router while they were away. After phoning ISP they said that IP numbers are changed dynamicly so much that its tricky to tell who has ownership at time of lease and that its possible someone else did the deed. Either way tho the letter was totally shocking. The letter made an outright demand for money or face court and down at the bottom not only did they want the 16 digit card number, the expiry and start date but they wanted the 3 digit CSS code too. Seriously companies like this deserve to crash and burn.
 
Thank god they've finally been suspended! I received letters from these bell's relating to crap ive never heard of or downloaded!

When normal arguments fly over the lawyers head, the only option left is stamp on him til he bleeds to death.

There is something very wrong with our society if it has to go this far, the law needs changed.
 
I think the factor that some people fail to take into account is the damage that this can do to the, for want of a better expression, poor. Take me for example - I simply cannot afford to go to court - I am in the first year of owning my own home, and whilst I'm just about getting by, a big expense like that would cost me my home. So basically, if that letter had arrived on my mat, I would have had to pay the 'fine' (Which would make life very difficult for me for at least a couple of months), not because I would lose in court, but because even if I won, I would still be bankrupt.

Knowing the impact that his slash and burn campain would have had if he had directed it at me, I am glad he is now suspended, bankrupt and single. Any man who would ruin other peopls lives, regardless of whether they deserved it or not, deserves everything he gets. If he meets his end in a dark alley somewhere, I for one will not feel the slightest sympathy.
