Vasectomy

Had mine about 4 years ago, like above I'm 34 father of 3, no plans to get married to another woman and start a new family in the future and the missus reacts badly to latex and can't take the pill. On a choice between me going to the vet or her having a cut and shut mine was the easier/safer option.

Its nothing really, all done under a local, they put a hole in each side, pull the tube out and cut them with something like a soldering iron then stitch you back up. I was a bit sore for a week or so, not helped by the stubble from the pre-op shave or the guy who was cutting got me on a bit that wasn't quite numb yet...

Make sure you have some tight underkegs for post op and a hair drier to keep dry with, towels are too good at scratching off stitches and you'll be back to normal in no time. One other thing, you should enjoy getting your lass to help with the at least daily procedure to ensure the pipes heal open and clot check ;).

You don't want to know what happened when my mate Jimmy...Sorry! Jenny as they're now known went for a Vasectomy that went a bit awry. Still, he got a lot of compensation for handbags and shoes. Err, SHE I mean.

It's horrible don't do it unless you really need too. It was the worst experience of my life and wouldn't wish it on anyone, I only had it done because my missus was on about getting herself sterilised which would have been even worse for her so I stepped up and did the man thing ................. and regretted everyone of the ten minutes of a doctor digging around in my scrotum with a scalpel.
Plus the sight of your plums actually looking like plums for a few days afterwards.

Thankfully never again. :p

Ya big wuss!

I was asked if I wanted a general anasthetic. **** that I said, I've got a poker night on Monday!

A man goes to the doctor and says he wants to be castrated.
Doctor asks, 'Are you sure you want to be castrated?' and he insists that is what he wants. So they book a hospital appointment.
He wakes up after the operation and the man in the next bed calls over, 'Hi! What did you have done?'
first man: 'I came in to be castrated. What are you in for?'
second man: 'I've been circumcised.'
first man: (after a pause) 'Ah! That was the word.'

That was the intention, yes.

Ah, good :-) We're on the same page then :-)

Besides, the snip is easier for me as it's a real struggle to find condoms big enough!

Budum tish!

How painful is it?

Remember when you twisted up your garden hose,
Well essentially that's the plan.

Absolutely ridiculous, if there is more than 1% of women with an IQ above 89 with this viewpoint, excluding those who want kids, I'll eat my hat.

What utter rubbish, the only way a woman could tell is if you told her. As for it being 100% successful, you have to provide a sample afterwards before it is safe to have unprotected sex.

There's just no hope with some of you guys, is there. So many of you find it impossible to think outside the matchbox you live in psychologically.

I'd rather live in my matchbox than your world

If that's the women you know and that's the way they think then they aren't worth knowing imo.

Operation itself was painless. Had a couple of weeks of discomfort rather than pain. Occasionally get the odd ache now and again but nothing serious. It has had a significant effect on my sex life though since the all clear, a very positive effect :)

Are they reversible, out of interest?

The official advice is to consider them irreversible.

It's possible to reconnect the plumbing, especially if the vasectomy was done in the right way. That part might be quite straightforward, although it can get more complicated if any blockage has developed in the vas deferens since you had a vasectomy.

However, that is not certain to restore your fertility even if the reversal operation was a complete success. The longer it has been since you had a vasectomy, the less likely it is you will be fertile again after the vasectomy has been repaired. Even if you have a reversal as soon as possible after a vasectomy, you might still be infertile. If, as is more likely, it's some years later, well, cross your fingers and hope. You've got a fair chance.

Treat them as irreversible.

They had a live vasectomy on GMTV a few years ago. The patient was given a small local anaesthetic (not that it did him any good) and then the doctor burnt his balls with what looked like a soldering iron.

Are you sure you weren't watching Saw IX?
