I've been a huge fan of Aronofsky's previous works Pi, Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler and my favourite The Fountain and around December time will see the release of Black Swan. As usual Clint Mansell will do the score and his work speaks for itself, especially the theme from RFAD which has since been used on tons of things, such as LOTR: Two Towers.

For anyone who's into their anime it's got a loose relation to Perfect Blue by Satoshi Kon.

Looks very interesting to me, little thing to note is the violin music at the end of the trailer is infact Swan Lake played backwards, sounds very haunting as Clint's scores always do (you'll agree if you've seen an Aronofsky film and the excellent Moon).

What do people think?

Ah, this will be the movie that was rumoured to be being produced prior to The Wrestler being released. Evidently, there was some substance after all.

I enjoy Aronofsky's work, so I think that whatever the plotline involves (knowing the past work, it will probably involve extreme introversion and isolation), it will have the usual character portrayal and haunting musical score that we've come to expect from him and Mansell. On viewing the trailer, it seems clear that we've got a movie revolving around paranoia and madness, which takes us neatly back to Aronofsky's old stomping ground in Pi and Requiem.

Of course, Miss Portman is our lead actress and we also have the gorgeous Mila Kunis thrown in too! We'll get to sit through 90 odd minutes of watching the two beauties bending in different positions on screen. Speaks for itself.

Oooh, this wets my whistle, yes sir. And Mila Kunis, which is a great turn for her I think, I really like her (I was a big that 70's fan lol), and it's bound to be a fantastic move for her. Jolly good!.

I enjoyed it, wasn't as good as what I thought it was going to be though. Natalie Portman is AMAZING though. She practiced ballet 9 hours a day for a year for this role.

The King's Speech and The Social network are both far superior imo. Apparently the score isn't original enough so it has lost a lot of it's nominations at upcoming film awards.

Took this home with me :)

Without spoiling anything...there are some very very sexy scenes in this film.

who is hotter, kunis or portman if u could only pick one! thats the main question i took after i saw this film :P...

It's a great film. Best lead actress winner in the Golden Globes recently which will hopefully be mirrored in the Oscars. (Nominations announced today and Black Swan is in there).

Generally I think Aronofsky is overrated.

BUT I loved this. Incredible performance from Portman. I loved the psychological horror aspects of it.

Portman! She has been my number 2 after Alba for years and years.

Kunis is hot, but her voice grates.

Portman's been knocked up by a male ballerina. He's bigger, hairier, stronger, earns more than me and has sexed up Miss Portman many times over.

I feel incredibly emasculated. :(

N.B. I wonder if he gets her to dress up as Queen Amidala? I know I would. I'd show her my lightsabre and everything.

Started watching it the other day. Can't say I was impressed. Natalie Portman's performance did not impress at all. I'm no dancer, but she just looked awkward and lacking any grace in most scenes, imo.
