Got a speeding ticket

You do realise that won't work right?

Ignore: I've actually read your link now.

What do you mean? I read about it all on the internet about how people have never signed a contract with the state and therefore the law does not apply to them and they routinely claim that it has worked with police officers. its all a cover up!

yes, quite.

Yeah was about to say, the pitchforks and touches would have been out then!! :D:p

I love the touches I get in motors, homely.....

great quote in this thread, I've never remotely felt the need to add random OcUK musings into my signature, but that had me laughing all the way to the shops and back - maybe you have to be me to appreciate it :S

Op just sounds like a whiney young driver who has no respect for the road. I personally think anyone under 25 who gets done for speeding should be getting a months ban so they can respect the road, its speeding youngsters that cause all our premiums to go up.

Maybe the cop pulling you over saved you from a fatal accident due to your high speeds.

I got let off with doing 40 in a 30, was going to work, he letcured me and let me off, so lucky that day.

He owns a Fiesta ST

;)

My mates mam got caught speeding going 40 in a 30 zone. Was going to accept the points and everything until she seen that someone had cut their bush back and their was a national speed limit sign on the lamp post. Now it was clear it was a 30 and has been for years but when they changed the speed limit they mustn't have removed that sign as it was covered by the bush.

With that been advertised as national she took a picture and video from where it was advertised to were she got caught, maybe 200 yards, and they couldnt prosecute her because of it. She was very lucky

Haha, not sure whether to claim it was deliberate or not :D

If you get caught speeding, you deserve to have a speeding ticket / points...Speed limits are in place for a reason.

Yes I have gone a little over the speed limit a few times, so has everyone, but dont moan when you get caught doing it...

I was pulled over once because I overtook a car doing 50mph in a 60mph limit. Clearly I went right past 60mph to over take him as quickly as possibly. There was a mobile van near where I over took. Technically I was breaking the speed limit by a fair margin... however the police officer was fair and did his checks and left me on my way. I'd have been a bit annoyed to have been fined/pointed for that!

I was under the impression that was acceptable, I thought that you could exceed the limit briefly to overtake another vehicle as long as it was safe to do so.

This. I might not agree with most speed limits (and cameras) but it's your own fault if you get caught so don't complain. :|

Caught out for doing 33 in a 30? lol...

I just don't drive stupidly, I break the speed limit when I know it's safe to do so. You would never catch me going over 30 on roads that are near schools etc.

For example, if it's its a single carridge-way (60) I'll happily go 70 if I know there aren't any cameras there.

Urban myth. A limit is a limit, but unless you're going through a GATSO or your dangerous/careless then the Police won't care.
