Am Thinking of buying the Sims 3 Ultimate Bundle --- week only deal on steam

It's living another person's life really. Without real life repurcussions, it can be quite funny and relaxing just making your house.

I'm not sure I would £60 for everything without playing just vanilla first though.

Yes

Though you might not want to publicise the fact you play it. I for one wouldn't state publicly, like on an open forum, that I play it and own all the expansions... Oh ;)

You could probably buy that bundle cheaper if you bought them seperatly from somewhere else.

It's a decent enough game for a mess about but I wouldn't spend £60 on a bundle if you've never tried it.

If it was cheaper I might consider it, but it's quite an old game now - I've already got the original and wouldn't spend £60 to have the entire collection on Steam :p

I think it's quite a good price really as Sims is one of those games that holds it's value but as others have said treat it like porn and don't admit to using it ;)

I agree that it would be a bit mad to spend £60 on a games series you have never tried. Perhaps the OP knows someone with a sims game he can borrow for a day to see if he enjoys playing it.

However, I don't think you can get this lot cheaper than £60 (new). The cheapest I can see the base game is £25, and the expansions (3 of) usually only go down to ~£15. Then you add on the two stuff packs (~£5).

So even factoring in best possible prices (and ignoring delivery cost) - this steam deal is still £20 cheaper.

Really? It looks like you get a lot of stuff there for the money to me!
3 Expansion packs and 2 Item packs.

Well the two item packs are basically worthless, that kind of stuff should be free mods.

so a two year old game + 3 expansion packs for £60??

I got Dragons Age Ultimate, which is a game, add on pack and 7 add-oon DLC for ....£12.49.

So yes £60 is a rip off.

The Sims has always been a funny game, hardcore PC gamers can't, or won't understand its appeal.

Very true, the Sims games do hold their value well. I can remember selling a year (or two year) old copy of Sims 2 and still raking in over £20 for it. :) Sims 2, which is what... six years old, is still going for a tenner in retail.

For that price, Steam, for once, actually might be on the money.

It's a great game, put countless hours in to the Sims along the years.

Can't say I'd bother with that package. Maybe just the Sims 3 for half price (About £15 as that's what imo, it's worth now) but this is EA.

Wouldn't bother with the exp packs unless your a Sims addict, they're simply not worth it, they don't offer enough.

Of course The Sims is a rip off. Its EAs major cash cow that they can milk for all its worth because people buy any old crap they release so long as it has 'The Sims' written on it.

I've never seen the appeal of it. I played the original (which always tended to descend into killing everyone) and don't understand how anything major has really changed since then.

Too steep, even for the size of the bundle, its a couple years old too
At the same time, for a bundle of that size I'd want the original dvd for backup purposes, or resale when I inevitably get bored with it.

Would recomend to the OP if theres a cd-resaler in town anywhere to check them and pickup Sims1 (a fiver or less) rather than spend £50 on something you don't even know you'll like or not
