Gillette really do make the bloody best razors

They're one of the oddest forms of Willy waving I've ever seen. Look at me I use a manly razor and I look manly because I have toilet paper stuck to my face...

Gillette make excellent razors. Have used them for close on 15 years and I wouldn't use anything else unless I had to.

Obviously the perfect shave the OP gets from a Gillette is complete crap and he's been acting on misinformation.

He needs a MERKUR 34C

because... because! He needs to get one!

Don't forget the badger brush. Synthetic shaving brushes do not correctly distribute the foam from your shaving soap across your face. WAIT WAIT WAIT

YOU WERE USING SHAVING FOAM OUT OF A TIN?

You poor misguided soul. You've probably caught cancer from that.

If you act quickly there may still be time.

And while you're at it, look up how to cook steak properly, you *****
 
Gillette razors sometimes feel like you shaving your face with sandpaper or some hair removal thing.

Wish i changed to to a double edged safety sooner also if you want to be ripped off by their silly blade prices be my guest. :p

Cut throats are the best but i just do not feel confident with one of those.;)

idiot. all you need to shave is a good razor. you dont need a brush or any of that rubbish.

edit: and gillettte is crap btw.

I've spent 20 years shaving with those multi blade things. You just did because they were the modern way of shaving. Had to be better because they were the best new thing for wet shaving.

Well new isn't always best for everybody and I wish I'd used a traditional DE safety razor years ago. I dumped the multblades last week for a new Merkur and brush for lathering up and get the best shaves of my life with very few nicks and cuts. On top of which they're saving me a fortune in the cost of blades so I can now afford to replace them more often.

If the multi-blades boondoggles work for you and you can afford it carry on, but not for me anymore, unless of course I need a shaver for carry on luggage when flying. ;)
 
Tesco value razor here for me, does the job and much cheaper than the gillete stuff

I do like the look of those merkur ones, hmmm.
 
ROTFL. Given some of the responses by people in this thread you'd think I just started a thread about killing animals, abusing children, satan worship etc.

I would try it myself, i would just look like a right pleb next to 15 other matelots all shaving with their mach whatevers and me with my soap, soap brush and merkur :p

Is the soap a prerequisite to using this razor? Ive never used a razor like this and im not too bothered if i cut myself a few times learning, i just would prefer it if i could stick to using shaving gel.

You really have to use the soap and badger brush.

Otherwise you wouldn't look like enough of a pompous ****
 
listen...mate... i use this razor, with a shaving cream, which you use like a shaving foam, with my hands, which costs a quid. bargain. give it a go. the stuff is called ingram green.

the brush and soap bull**** is rubbish. trust me.
