Help me break my crappy work PC!

Flip the voltage switch on PSU the flip it back and plead ignorance? That will kill it but will look like just the PSU has died.

Or just ask if you can have an upgrade?

This in most cases just blows the PSU but I have a solution to kill it all

shutdown your PC, Power off mains socket and PC open it up and remove the power conector from PSU to M/B find some staples from your Bosses stapler LOL the kind that are all glued together break just 2 of them off and place into the socket of the PSU connecter male sure you are bridging one red cable to a yellow cable dont matter which plug back into motherboard.....

Put your computer back together and then flick the voltage swith on the PSU from 240 to 115 and with a very long WODDEN BROOM HANDLE flick the mains switch on, Bang goes the PSU and under test you will find it's blown the Motherboard too, also the evidence be gone as the staples will melt and fizzle away and a burn scorch mark will be all over the motherboard connector.
Will look like a genuine fault. (I used to do this to get warrenty returns on PC's where i used to work) LOL

Don't forget to swith the PSU back to 240 before you call your boss over to say "Err it just went bang boss looks like it's finally died tis a shame as i loved that PC"

LOL

BTW a good surge protecor is advised as it may also blow the buildings fuse or at least the power ring its on.....

I would have broken a pin on CPU but put the pin back in the hole on the board so of they took it apart it's not oviouse that it was deliberate

You would have opened the computer up? Taken the (usually fiddly) heat sink off? Likely got thermal grease on your fingers? Bent a pint. Then put it all back on again?

What a mission.

Just thought IT in the company could pull the HD and search history see your on OKUK forums and read your threads.....LOL Opps busted.

Or worse still the internet logs are stored on there server....

This thread is epic, the only problem is i think they will notice the missing parts that you ripped off :P

I can confirm that I will be getting a NEW PC asap! :) Spoke to the guy who manages the tech at work.

And here is the better part... I asked if I could build the PC myself with the money they would give to the company that would normally supply the PC. He said probably not, but maybe a work monitor upgrade might be worthwhile as doing a lot more CAD work these days! Awesome :)

I was hoping to start a "Help me spec my new work PC!" thread :D

So in summary; I recommend breaking your crappy work PCs (but don't get caught!).

Thanks for all your ideas and support in these hard times XXXXXXXXX

If I broke my work PC I'd end up getting someone's abandoned outcast Pentium III.

Get a hammer and trash the whole thing up while wearing boxer shorts on your head with 2 pencils sticking out of your nose, that way you can plead insanity :p

Note : you might get a free straight jacket to wear for a while :p
