Actually, the 360 controller buttons don't work on the login screen, well they do, but you need to move your pad joystcik down to select an option. The hand is of putting. The serial key input has got the focus, so use you joystick to move down.

I went around the long way to explain that!

The release date has changed to the 18th of Feb :(

There must obviously be a difference between this version and the version that was released digitally. Unless it's a manufacturing problem or something like writing the manual...

Either way, I'll be playing it tonight.

:) I love it when games like this come out, unexpected titles that actually turn out to be brilliant(it looks like it so far). Oblivion was the same, I didn't really have high hopes for that, then found myself spending weeks on it!

Oblivion was no where near as unexpected as this game lol. That game probably had the biggest load of pre release hype, media attention, and customer desire than any other game even from over a year before it was actually released.

This Two Worlds 2 on the other hand is completely unheard of by most people, but looks like a diamond in the rough.

Well them sales do not include the official UK release, therefore the numbers you listed Neil have no relevance to the official UK release.

This game has not even appeared on our version of Steam yet.

The digital sites that seem to distribute I have never heard of until you mentioned them.

Basically this game has had very little coverage in the UK, hence why bhavv and me knew very little about it, nevermind the 360 or PS3 owners, as it isn't available in the UK for them either as far as I know.

Back on topic.

Maybe I should have called the thread the official UK ....

Hopefully the many(probably) who haven't heard of it, it's looks like a sleeper hit to me.

I don't think I used the internet as heavily as I do now, so I suppose that was the reason I didn't get caught up in the hype as far as Oblivion is concerned. Basically I went into Tesco and liked the look of it and bought it (the good old day) :)

I concur regarding Two Worlds 2, my opinion might change but my gut reaction from what I've played so far is that it's great.

As far as the size of the map is concerned, Dragon Age's was tiny and that was a lot better then Oblivion. Also, once you saw one cave in Oblivion you saw them all, the whole game is terribly drab and colourless now, so the size of the map makes no difference, it's how you use it :)

ANYWAY!!

As many know, the North American, Irish and UK release of the next installment in the Two Worlds franchise has been pushed back to January 25th, 2011. Contrary to an earlier December press release in Europe by TopWare's publishing partner: South Peak Games, has relinquished distribution rights in Ireland and the UK to TopWare in order to focus on their North American marketing campaign. The rights were not purchased back by TopWare, as was previously reported.

That's why it was delayed right back for the uk and ireland, the breaks 1 million did mention the uk a few times but you are correct it didn't mention uk numbers. I am supprised that you didn't hear much about it as there was a number of threads and post made about it. Maybe it's just because i check everywhere so damn often lol! :D

Dragon Age was an instance festival.

I'm looking forward to this, I'll be lazy and ask for the demo link before googling. :p

Exactly, so was Oblivion really. I know I just used fast travel to complete it, I looked around first after I did a bit of exploring I just used fast travel, the scenary was so samey even back then.

Like I mentioned in the opening post, it was marvelous graphics and attention to detail when I began swimming across the sea in the tutorial, it was a pleasure to explore. Then again it could and probably will get tedious after I've put in a few hours.

The demo seems rare actually.

I used Vuze to download, not sure if it's actually the full game as it asked for a serial number which obviously I haven't got. But there is a button to play the demo.

I highly recommend the 360 pad, it's perfect for this game, especially the combat and the inventory is easy to use too :) this is a big plus for me as I don't like using keyboards and mice anymore for this type of game, saying that I recently got into Battlefield 2, which was a surprise as I went off fps a long time ago, but the graphics and sounds etc is superb on that game, and obviously I prefer using a mouse over a pad for that by far.

Hope you find the demo mate.

It was for dungeons which was annoying to say the least.

I found the demo on Gamershell.

It does work, no logins or serial codes.

I've only dabbled, kind of wished it had First person view but has a little more in-depth stats system than I thought it would have.

Attacking villagers or a guy dressed in all black armor isn't a smart option though. Hilarity ensued when I ran away and got nailed in the head with an arrow. :D

Got me excited then, its the demo for the first game though not the second :(

Jcb33.

Basically, the pirate version was being used as the demo because you are given a set period of time(TRIAL) before it asks you to pay up! ;)

Compared to Dragon Age, so far I can only compare the combat as I am only playing the demo and it has superior combat, by far actually.

Combat mechanics are totally different? Tactical party combat vs 3rd person, cant really compare them at all.

The combat in TW2 is terrible, IMO. The melee stuff is clunky and lacked fluidity, and movement feels stilted. I completed the demo and dabbled in Magic/Ranged but it felt like a frustrating exercise - as it makes up such a large portion of the gameplay it was a critical factor for me.

Similar experience with The Witcher, poor combat mechanics spoilt the game for me...

Bought the first one from GoG.com, it sounds like you defo have it, the 2nd one is in a different league! Mind you the dialog/voice acting in the first one is hilarious, like Monty Python actually!

The second one has much better everything really, the combat is so streamlined, it has never been easier to fire an arrow or block with a shield in any rpg for example, the magic seems simple too with good effects.

It is almost taking RPG's into a different direction imo, introducing user friendly elements like combat and actually making them fun. To me it's like a evolution of the genre, that seems to have took ages to get to. Mass Effect 2 is heading in that direction too, the combat was much better than Mass Effect 1.

Neil could be right, I could actually have a dodgy copy, which is ridiculous if you need to download that to play the demo! They're asking for trouble! Another unique feature I suppose :)
