I did all of 7stanes + Laggan and didn't use the granny once.
For sure some off piste stuff can get steep but I bet you find that 36 too low.

The trails I was thinking of were some in the Cairngorms (Firmounth long & Mount Keen) and the impossible climb at Pitfichie. There is nothing that steep in the 7 Stanes or laggan. Also I'll be using a 30lb AM bike. I run 11-32 on the XC bike.

got my avid caliper mount bolts this morning and thats sorted my calipers out

anyone else had packages from CRC? i got the bolts in a box A4 sized if not larger, and yesterday i received a chainstay guard in an A3 sized box seriously wtf? :confused:

I got my Sombrio gloves in a box the same size as my original Xbox 360 came in. Yet when I bought my new seat, the box was rather small, and it was broken because the seat had been forced in.

Strange people up at CRC. :S Brilliant service from them so far though

im just finishing off setting my bike up and am working on the gears at the mo and need opinions on the rear loop i have near the rear mech.
does it look too big? or just right :confused:

Aren't Shimano supposed to have a slightly bigger loop?

Not sure as my stuff has all been SRAM at the back for a while now.

Doesn't look to bad, personally I would make it a little tighter just to reduce any chance of catches. Jagwire sticker on the frame though no don't do it! How are the superstar wheels?

yeah the sticker is going to come off soon

ill cut another bit as i was concerned about catching as well, havent had a chance to test out the bike properly yet as im recovering from an eye op but hopefully next weekend

What are the little screw ends called that limit how much pressure can be put on the lever? I fitted some new lock on bar grips yesterday and had to remove them as the grip ends are too wide. I need a thinner "screw end".

Exactly what I was thinking. If anything it's slightly on the short side. But since Jagwire is being used it's probably ok.

looks too long if it's a slx "shadow" type, or too short for conventional, either way it looks wrong or maybe just odd camera angle?
