Ah, weird camera angle :p

This is how a Shadow rear mech cabling should look:

anyone have any experience setting up a shimano double specific front mech ?
i cant figure mine out :(
on the granny ring if i shift into 5th or higher the chain catches on the lower section of the cage which you can just make out in the photo below. if i were to lower the mech further it would mean that it wouldn't be able to shift past the bash guard in order to make it onto the 36t ring

Hehe, back in December Chain Reaction accidentally stuck my address on someone else's order (some QR skewers and a top cap). I decided to do the right thing and send it back and they repaid me with a £10 CRC E-voucher :D

On another random subject, is anyone else doing the February Mini DH at the Forest of Dean?

Went riding at Peaslake in the Surrey Hills today, first time on the bike in 6 months. The climbs really showed up my fitness but I managed to hang on in the twisty bits which I'm quite chuffed about since I was the only hardtail rider there.

It's worth checking out if you live in the SE of England, kinda like a mini-Cannock Chase, and it's only about 20mins from West London (well Richmond where we set out from).

So in 3 weeks I will be the proud owner of a spesh camber elite 2011 , good choice? I was going to go for the comp but is sooo heavy id rather spend a bit more and actually be able to ride the bike up hills

Bit of advice from the knowledgeable folks - Last couple of times I have been out on the bike I have noticed a kind of scraping/rubbing noise at certain times from the crank/BB area.

Basically it happens when I put extra push on the left pedal when, for example, I am going up hill... Pedalling normally is fine but, as it reaches halfway from 12 o'clock position and 9 o'clock and I push down hard to get up hills or to just get that bit of speed up, it makes a kind of rubbing/scrapey sound.

I aint great at explaining things so I hope this is clear...

The bike has only done about 50 miles so far from new.

Its going in tomorrow to Evans for its 6-8 week service thing but thought I would ask here before I do.

^^ expect it will be your cranks rubbing on the frame - look for marks on the chainstay

sometimes only happens when you pedal hard on the cranks and they flex a lot

that or front mech allignment

But its only when pushing forward/down on the pedal hard so they are nowhere near the chainstays as the cranks are forward of the BB

Could it be the pedal as its just the standard plastic affairs that come with Hardrock's ??

I need a new Bottom Bracket, Is there a noticeable difference between stainless bearings and the ceramics? Thinking about getting the Hope.
I have a Hope Ceramic BB and I didn't notice any greatness in the transition from the XT BB. They are supposed to last longer though.

Nice choice :)
Having a lighter bike obviously helps but fitness is more of factor when climbing hills. Looking at the spec the weight difference is probably only 200-300 grams.
I hope you got the £155 back to spend on Specialized Kit - 10% Spring Reward.
