What is your passion? What career choice etc?

OK so long story short, been messing about for a while after uni, had lots of savings, make some money in poker, funds running to an all time low and I must seek employment, and so began 2 weeks ago.

So the reason I've made this thread is that I've just got 2 phone calls from recruiters I don't remember applying for. First one asked me what I wanted to do and what my passion was.. This obviously has completely stumped me as frankly I don't care except that the money is decent etc.. So for one of them I acted a fool, the other one I played ambient street sounds on youtube (have it bookmarked) and said to call me later.

Obviously I've been thinking about what the hell I want to do career wise for like 5 years, but I get nothing. I'm not very good in this type of thinking, same with the whole write an essay (pick your own topic).. Took me 6 months to figure out what i will do my dissertation on and did it in 3 days.

Anyway, advice would be appreciated, also, i would like to hear from others, what they did etc or if situation is similar.
 
It might be worth looking into breaking into the fish finger distribution market. Big money to be made, I hear.
 
I know exactly what I want to do as a career which is Software Engineering. Just think of what you love doing then seek a career in that?
 
I'm 27, and only in the last year have I realised what my true calling in life (hopefully) is.

Interview on Friday; if all goes well, I'll move across the country hundreds of miles away from anyone I know, and become a very poor student for many years.
 
I struggled with direction career-wise until I was about 28. It ended upo being something totally out of the blue that I never thought I'd be doing. Just try new things, something will pan out. You're still young, too so I wouldn't worry that much.
 
I always wanted to be a Soldier, I became and loved being a Soldier until injury forced retirement 5 years ago. Now I'm in management which is ok but what I really want to do is teach Folklore, Religion and Mythology, and toward that end I am considering restarting my education.

Career Choice : Technical Engineer!!

At the moment I am a second year student at SHU doing Computer Networks degree, it's alright, but sometime ago I noticed that I quite enjoy programming, but I am not sure if I would like to do that for living..... messing around with networking cables and hardware, connecting and configuring stuff seems more interesting for a carrer choice:)
 
No idea :(. 23 and nothing has grabbed me. Sucks that I wasnt able to take advantage of my free education and point myself in a direction early.

Great sense of humour you have there James, I must admit, I did lol at stealing someone else's rubbish joke/insult that doesn't even make sense. Congratulations.
