What's the latest on this?

The wife has just got insurance cash through from a broken 3gs and needs to decide to get another or an iphone4

antenna is an issue still if you short the two antenna's (how can it be fixed without a hardware update) however mine is always in a case so it does not really matter for me...

Never noticed it with or without case and I get better signal in places my 2G iPhone just didn't want to know about.

Only question for me would be whether to wait for the iPhone5, but thats a good few months away and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the iPhone4.

Never had a single dropped call with mine. Do get a faint buzzing sound when I bridge the antennas whilst on a call. Also lose 3G sporadically, but that might be a vodafone issue. Overall, it's a pretty good piece of kit though.

not really had an issue. although reception not as stable as when i had a nokia.

love the phone though.

go for it

If you are in an area with poor reception, it might be a bad idea. Though I see you are in Manchester, so you should have no problem. If I bridge the antennas in certain parts of my house I can make it lose signal, but it was not often I would do that accidentally.

I have the free bumper which does seem to help some people. Personally I see no real difference. In Manchester proper I never have a problem, as the signal strength is very high.

iP4 is an outstanding phone, but I personally would wait for the iP5 as its coming to that time of the year!

Got upgraded to an iPhone 4 a week ago and I've tried to kill the signal (Vodafone) and I've failed. Even in a sweaty left hand... Oh er missus. :D

If you have a weak signal, you may notice it. If you dont, you wont.

It is an issue but not a bad one, and a lot of other phones suffer from it too.

Mmm do I cancel my piel frama case that I've reorder for my 3GS are loosing the last one and get one for the 4 and just make the move to Vodafone ASAP.

What's 3GS like with Vodafone and is the 4 night and day better.

One thing is for certain is that I'm going back to Vodafone as O2 are utter utter TOSH.

My sensible head says get onto Vodafone with a 30 day rolling contract with the 3GS and wait for the iPhone 5. Just my exit from O2 won't be until August, unless I have another bout of no signal and dropping calls. They can't understand that the service isn't fit for purpose. On my four sim card and 3rd Iphone in 18 months
