4-Chan 'Anonymous' web-site hackers arrested.

Correctomundo - 10/10.

It is wise to assume that whatever you do on t'Internet or on a mobile 'phone, you CAN be caught, assuming someone is sufficiently concerned.

Frankly, I don't believe that claim, it may be true across the millions across the UK, but I don't believe that you will find that many.

well i must be one of the lucky ones there are no less than 6 unsecure wifi that i could connect to just from where i am sitting in my house

but i'm on vm 50mbit so there is no need for me to steal someone elses connection

i know these connections exist as i have repaired a freinds laptop and when it went looking for my connection it found these wifi ones as well:eek:

Actually you can hide your IP address by crafting TCP packets to spoof the sender IP, just don't expect to get anything back again.... which of course for a DOS is not a requirement.

This is possible however I believe a lot of ISP's will just drop these packets as they come into their network with a source IP that doesn't match the subnet / network it came from. Look up ingress filtering.

I already know they don't just do a preliminary scan.. My sister is regularly providing services for the CPS, as I already posted :p

I'm not going to tar the entire police force and CPS based on a few terrible mistakes some have made that form not even a fraction of the number of successful and properly processed charges they present to court. :)

I see i was just playing devil's advocate supposing it happened though that through being hacked your comp was used for such purposes it would be a nightmare to try and disprove.

4 big players in the UK got arrested. Honestly, if the feds wanna do a proper job the should find the hacker 'Brain' he is guy who produces most of the ideas, locking him up will dishearten demoralise Anonymous.

the LOIC is less effective if used with a proxy. thats why they said that on there website. it works by packet flooding so using a proxy would obviously make it less effective...

the near zero chance of getting caught is because arrests are rarely ever made because of DDoS attacks.

was this to do with the recent "Operation Payback" or was that the filesharing operation.

I've just been reading about this...

The HBGary guys Twitter has been hacked and made me laugh:
https://twitter.com/aaronbarr#

For a US federal security firm you have to roll your face at this:

Barr adds that Anonymous is also not quite done with him. “They’re trying to pop my home router. I’m watching IP traffic and they’re trying to get my home box,” he says. “So I just unplugged it.”

Wow, I'm going to start a security firm and suggest that all my clients unplug their routers to enhance security. :p

You see this is the problem with 4chan and its the reason I stopped using it. Its full of retards who want to be as good as the more elite members over there, its full of children now. They just jump on google and download software, without any clue as to how to keep their tracks hidden. Place has gone to the dogs. 4chan used to be pretty damn awesome, and no doubt still is in part, Just wish it wasnt so full of wannabe elitists

I suspect that trying a DoS attack via proxies might not be too popular with the guys running the proxies, huh?

Control traffic goes through the proxies; DoS traffic comes from a host at the other end of the proxy chain ideally.

well i must be one of the lucky ones there are no less than 6 unsecure wifi that i could connect to just from where i am sitting in my house...

Not to mention WEP is crackable in minutes, and WPA in hours. Wonder how long WPA2 will last...
