Test Drive 2 has been released & is available to download on steam

I'm liking it so far, although it was a complete nightmare setting my wheel up and the sensitivity sliders all seem to be backwards. The handling isn't perfect but with all the aids off it seems ok. Seems to run ok on 1900x1200 although I'm only runnning everyone on medium at the moment. I would have tried a few more challenge races but I bought the mustang and it seems to be quite slow compared to the other starting cars.

playing with keyboard and the handling feels craaap :(
was very playable with TDU1.

Maybe I should explain alittle, - it feels like a five year old arcade racer. controls just feel very wooden. ovs, using a keyboard doesnt do a racing game jusice but still, so far the cars all feel and act very much the same way.

people instead of just saying the game is cr@p, explain how it's rubbish, if it's just the handling then it's speciified to one area, which a patch update could sort.

i always thought you went to university to learn stuff and not to play games :p , has times changed that much in the last 20 odd years ?
Yeah, so did I. Imagine how annoyed I was when I discovered I only had eight hours of lectures per week. :p

Rubbish, you have loads of free time if you want a 2:2 or a 3rd.
For the record, I have lots of free time and am averaging a first, at the moment. I'm only in my first year though, I don't expect this to be the case in my second and third. ;)

Hey i had loads of free time and got a 2:1. Well after the first year... had lectures almost 9-2 every day with frequent labs 2-5 the first year and they gradually got less and less. Hell my last year i got Monday and Friday off :p

Its all subjective. What uni you go to, what subject you do etc.

I'm studying maths and economics at Durham and I definitely do not have lots of free time. However those people who just do a mickey mouse degree at a rubbish uni (i.e. more or less go for the social life) could still get a 2:1 or 1st for maybe a couple nights of work a term just to get essays done.

I'm in 11-6 some Monday's, 3-5 Tuesday, not in most Wednesday's, but today I'm in 9-3, Thursday's is 9-6, Friday 9-2

In my second year, maybe for some people it is a breeze, but I don't find it a breeze, I'm currently so far averaging a high 2:1, very close to a 1st, I never did 1st year, straight into second. I probs could play a game about 2 hours a day tbh but I cycle too.

I'm doing Business IT at Salford Uni, I'd hate to think of it as a mickey mouse degree the reputation from the degree seems pretty good.

Yea, 6 modules, 1.5 hour lecture for each?

My uni was a 2 hour lecture per module, so 12 each week. Even with that everyone I knew had plenty of free time for socializing / part time work / extra curricular stuff.

One girl I knew was working two part time jobs for a total of 30 hours per week because she couldnt get one full time job with her timetable, and she still got a 2.1.

Well, IMO any IT degree is a mickey mouse degree :p. If its not Computer Science, then its a waste of time.

Wow, was looking forward to some TDU:2 opinions and I've been sucked into a university degree discussion! :p

Any more opinions on the game in the title of the thread???

Get back on topic guys! Came here to read about the game and not how much time you guys sleep/play. ;)

edit: beaten by Stevie :)

Game sounds like epic fail from what I've read so far. Apparently the weather only changes online as well - offline it is always dry and sunny. If I buy this it would be for primarily if not exclusively offline use so that would be a major disappointment to me.

I guess if you are looking for a fun arcade racer then this fits the bill ?

For anything other than that needing a level of realism its a no no ?

well I got a Email with the serial and download links from Atari who I pre ordered with on the 7th Feb at 11 PM did not download till yesterday 11 am 8th Feb installed and played online and told my 2 mates who ordered the DVD version whom weren't very happy :-)

sounds like it, much like tdu1

To be honest, if its basically TDU1 with fixed online, I'll be well happy! :D

I remember people slagging off the handling on the first one but I found that once you got used to it, it was very intuitive!!

I could do with a racer to occupy me since I've gone to my limit on GT5! :p
