Xbox 360s freezing.

Anyone else having any trouble with the xbox freezing?
Its a new one the 4gb model, every now and again im in the middle of a game (black ops online normaly) and it will be on a menu waiting to go into a game or something and it just sort of hangs. Wont do nothing on the controller have to touch the power button on the front.
Just like to know if its common or just mine?

Do the lights that usually show controllers connected on the front (aroubnd the power button) go red at all?

Have you tried any of these?

If not, send it back for repair. There seems to be some dodgy 4Gb ones, probably all made on a Friday afternoon.

No not red at all, system just freezes.

is there any picture on the screen when it freezes or does it go black/blank ?

Yes there is picture, its just in between menus normally. Happened a few times but not enough to know what causes it yet.

ive been having issues too,and some one else posted on here today saying there are having freezing issues with a new slim

my screen goes blank while playing,some time from discs and some time from DLC (demos) so i know its not a disc issue,the xbox will become unresponsive and pressing OFF some times doesnt turn it off,the fastest way for me to bring it out of its frozen state it to press eject even if theres no disc in it will come back to life

mines the 250gb version and im wondering if its a HDD issue in my case.

oh i forgot to add , the console and PSU are both well ventilated too

Mine does have a hard drive fitted too, Its very well ventilated with nothing around it really. When mine freezes the only thing i can do its turn power off on the main button. If it happens again i shall try ejecting the disc first.

my girlfriends new xbox slim did that, kept freezing during gaming, it got progressively worse each time you restarted i.e. would freeze sooner and sooner, until it wouldn't even get past the 'xbox' screen without freezing, had to be sent to microsoft for repair, didn't specify what the problem was only that the console was replaced with a new one. been working 100% perfect ever since!

Well mine aint too bad at the moment its now and again, if it keeps happening or gets worse i will get in touch with Microsoft.

I'm on my 3rd because of this. I found its normally when going from game to desktop, or when its updating. does it make a "clicking" or "wurring" noise? It ended up being a dud HDD on both of the 1st two.

yup thats what im getting some clicking and yeah its happened a lot going to desktop

i had a feeling it could be the hdd

Im reluctant to send it back coz i know i'll be without a xbox for a couple of weeks
