Test Drive 2 has been released & is available to download on steam

Just went and had a go at TDU 1. Wow, the handling and physics of cars feel like a sim compared to this, really puts it to shame. I hope they can patch it up to the standard of the original.

Yeah it's offline for me too - which is doubly annoying considering I'm having to start again to get an online profile...

Thanks to Viper^2 for confirmation.

Anyone having a problem taking the picture on Ibiza of the ferrari infront of the lighthouse, it crashes everytime for me with a white screen, it only happens on this photography mission.

They had to re-write the driving/Handling physics from scratch to to allow for the off-road driving which will explain why it feels different.

I am unsure if the handling physics is something they can just "patch" as it would change the entire game.

Maybe it will be better when they properly implement ffb. At the moment it feels like ffb is only working when your near full lock.

I love this car :)

I'm having a hell of time getting first place in the Ibiza A7 championship. Getting 2nd, 3rds etc but you cannot make a single mistake it seems. Tried now about 30 times and I'm sure it's doing my health no good with the raging :P

I'm playing with keyboard though and never had a wheel, is it really that much better to control with a wheel, and if so whats the cheapest one thats half decent to get for this game ?

I always been useless at driving games when using steering wheels...

I find am much better wiwhen using a good gamepad (xbox360 or PS3 gamepad)

It was working for a while, I finished the off road license and got my next car after that (I took the red one in the middle). But then the game crashed after I was advised to go to the real estate agent :O

Damn crashes. It didnt slow down this time and I set everything back to max, the driver reinstall seems to have fixed it.

I've always been terrible until I got my 360 pad, now they are a lot easier :)

My previous Saitek pad was rubbish.

And after the crash I cant log in anymore FARKING FAIL GAME!!!

I am liking the game but would be much happier if they could patch in similiar driving physics to the original.

It seems like Out Run at times.

I was driving around and randomly clicking buttons and ended up in a challenge with another player.

As soon as the challenge started, my sound died. I couldnt win because my car was still crap so I left the challenge and alt f4ed to fix my sound.

On trying to load the game again, servers are offline, woot?

With the launcher btw when you start tdu2 before you press play look at top left of the window and notice Menu. In there you will be able to select configuration and in there is options for Direct Sound or Xaudio2.

So if audio is screwy maybe try the other sound option?

the engine physics of this new TDU suck really badly. take the viper for instance, in TDU1 the viper would pull hard from 2000rpm upwards with some serious torque. in TDU2 you got to rev the viper like a civic type R just to make it shift.

same with the vw toureg, 5ltr v10 diesel with like 550ftlb torque at 2000rpm, it dont move at 2000 rpm, you need to take it right up to 4500rpm to make it get anywhere.

when it comes to simulating the engine torque curves the original game was considerably better, and is in my opinion still the best game at simulating engine power/torque delivery. in TDU1 you can actually feel when the turbo charger has kicked in in cars that have a turbo, e.g the xj220, lotus exiege etc etc.

TDU2 = crap in my opinion.
