Facebook - Tip for eradicating the new horrible photo viewer

The benefits of photos appearing in a modal window, in my mind, outweigh needing photos to sit on their own page.

What exactly are the benefits of the new viewer?

I know. Tell me about it. We were working fine dragging things around but then these 'engineers' develop the wheel? Talk about changing things that worked fine for no apparent reason.

What exactly are the benefits of the new viewer?

Its quicker to flick through a load of images and then get back to the main feed, or where ever I was to start with.

Often I just look at photos that have appeared on my feed. Using the old system I would have had to go to a separate page look through all of the images, then if I wanted to go back to the page I found the images were on I would either have to press the back button lots of times or find the appropriate link on the page to take me back to where I was, and even that wouldn't take me back to the correct part of the page.

Now I can just have a quick flick through and then close down the modal window, either by using the close button - or just clicking outside of the modal window, and I am right back where I started.

The benefits aren't huge, admittedly, but there certainly are benefits over the previous version.

Or, just open the first photo into a new tab.
