I just have a hard time seeing it, that's all. I like Puppets but Justice is amazing as is Black. Admittedly I can see a definite turning point after that.

Because aside from it's general awesomeness, it is probably the most influential album of all-time and spawned countless imitators....
....and it starts with the coolest riff ever.

Purely because this was the album that started it all.
If it wasn't the Foo Fighters, it would have to be Linkin Park - Meteora

Given his sig, I'd guess he was a pretty die-hard Foos fan so I'd have thought "it all" would be their succession albums (even though the debut and Colour & Shape were the only decent albums they/he made

2 Discs of amazing song writing, it's also one of those albums that SOUNDS like an album, not a collection of tracks, I can listen to both discs in one sitting without getting bored, it's like a good film.

That's what I like about the Astral Weeks album. I'm not even a particular fan of Van Morrison. But it came up on Spotify one day and I decided to give it a listen.
It's one of those albums you can put on and before you know it you're asking "woah, that song already?". The whole thing just flows together so well. The only other album that does that for me is Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds.
