What's the best pizza you can buy in a shop

I think Pizza Express have changed their shop bought pizzas in the last year or so ... smaller, less cheese and topping and the pepperoni on American Hot seems different. Perhaps they were too good and were impacting on restaurant sales? :p

Chicagotown Pepperoni or 4 cheeses are my favourites. Goodfellas ones are a bit bland and too crispy for my taste. I've tried tescos, morrisons and M&S pizzas and they are all low quality IMO. They never put enough cheese on. For take-away I still need to try Papa Johns pizzas, apparently they are good, but I always order Dominos for convenience (although they are a total ripoff). Do like the herb sauce Dominos includes though.

Sainsburys Italian range.

The pepperoni is expecially good.

Anybody that has listed a frozen pizza in this thread has no idea what they are talking about. :p

presume you could get it as takeaway but my current pizza of choice is the Calabrese from pizza express, really, really awesome

Those Goodfellas ones advertised as being better than Dominos are pretty good! I also find the Ristorante ones by Dr Oetker are passable. The Chicago Town deep dish pizzas are quite good too, if you don't mind their being quite small.

yup goodfellas are awesome. I always pick them up from supermarkets.

Pizza Hut's bread is far too salty and Dominos if you're a commoner and don't mind bland taste :p
I've worked at both Pizza Hut and Dominos.
The salt in the Pizza Hut base isn't salt, it's in fact a cup full (or 2 depending on size) of cheap oil.
As for Dominos, yeah the base could be bland depending on the toppings, but it's a lot healthier and fresh (Pizza Hut bases and toppings are frozen for up to 2 weeks) and the commoners usualy can't afford £16 a pizza so they go to Pizza Hut . ;)

I think I must be the only person in the world who doesn't like Pizza Express pizzas.
From a Pizza Express restaurant I really like their pizzas, but in a box from the supermarket they are just a letdown :(

Constantly let down by anything from Sainsburys. The base tastes like cardboard and barely resembles edible bread. It's more like a ship's biscuit :p

Waitrose ones are quite good though. I like them. Nice quality toppings and a tasty base with good texture.

Sign of a good pizza is if you can eat the base by itself, in my opinion :)
