Curious things people do at work.

I cant say I have that issue, there is never ever anyone waiting behind me at the water thingy.

I did however walk in one early morning and find the coke vending machine door open :) of course I didn't take anything.

I have seen people do far weirder things at work.

Like have a massive guff

We have to desk share and my 'mate' hordes crap. like the plastic things from the middles of Pizzas and Kinder Egg toys.

and I agree with you. Waste of cups. get up.

Bigger cups would be the answer, or filling the bottle, which i never do.. which i should now its pointed out ehehe

Am I totally immature to burst out laughing at that comment? :)
True though, there is this guy I work with that doesn't hold back on volume and thinks that as long as you follow it up with a "pardon" it's all good. I find it hilarious and have once had to leave a meeting to have a word with myself. Trouble is it becomes the only thing on your mind when you keep telling yourself not to find it funny.

More of an annoyance are the smokers who smoke outside the front door and force you to walk a gauntlet of fetid air. Then there are also the particularly selfish individuals who decide to try and smoke in the doorway to keep their **** warm by leaving the door open.

Cold stinky air then wafts in. Irritates the ******* **** out of me!

On the weird front I have a minor counting thing with multiples of four but it doesn't really rule my life and often don't think about it for weeks. But I have a colleague whose day is ruled by counting to ten and if she doesn't do it she has to start again. It was so complicated that I couldn't even get my head around it.

If I got up every time I wanted some more water/tea I would be wasting a lot of time :p

Would usually get 2-3 cups whenever going but the machine was down the hall though.

I'm fascinated by other people's behaviour - you could say I'm a bit obsessed :D

When I've had the misfortune of staying overnight at a hostel I noticed that some of the residents would take two glasses of juice with their breakfast. I assumed this was because they had some kind of points system on their breakfast allowance.

I always do this in hotels, grab a few juices. The glasses are always very small, and i cant be bothered to get up, potentially wait again for the jug in line, and refill.

In the canteen at work, however, a large number of people take two plastic cups of water with their lunch. This can only be because they are too lazy to get up and fill it up again. I genuinely find this very strange when there are two taps dispensing cold filtered water up there and no more than 3-4 metres away. Why would you use two cups when one suffices?

Again, always do this if i feel that i want more than the cup size allows. Saves getting up. I dont know about your workplace but i have never been required to pay for the cups, so taking 2 saves time and is still "free".

I rarely have to go to the water dispenser more than once per day. But thats because I fill up one of these the minute I arrive at work in the morning:

Now that I'm thinking about it, the other thing that I do at work that could be considered strange is take my shoes off. I've only ever known two other people to do it; a guy I worked with in my last place, and my uncle.

I do this :o

9/10 I will sit cross legged on my chair with my socks off, or with my feet stretched out resting on top of the PC.

I'll usually take two cups of water in the canteen because they're tiny cups and it saves getting up & refilling. I'll also take two glasses of juice in a hotel for the same reason. At my desk I use a large glass.

I take my shoes off in the office as well, purely for comfort. Haven't done it in the new job yet though, still trying to maintain an air of respectability. At my last job my FD used to do it all the time; take his shoes off, climb onto the chair & sit on the back of it, sit on the table, sit on the window sill....

I'm an obsessive leg jiggler as well, which pleased one of my new colleagues as he is too and was always annoying people with it. I fidget an awful lot in fact...!

I see people do the 2 cups thing all the time.
What I want to know is why people in my office - when making a cup of tea/coffee with milk - put the milk bottle back in the fridge when there's a little milk left in the bottom of the bottle. The next person to make drinks doesn't use the bottle with a little bit in and goes straight to a new bottle. At the end of the day there are 5 bottles of milk in the fridge with a little bit of milk left in each.

Whats up with that?

This seems a weird rant. I get 2 cups sometimes because 0.2l isn't enough for my lunch. Would you keep getting up and go back to the canteen counter for each course you have? No, you'd put on your tray what you are going to consume for your lunch. It's nothing to do with being lazy, it's common sense.

Haha I've noticed this too - I seem to be the only one that uses the last of the milk in the bottles!
