Win 7 SP1 gets dated?

_Jimlad_ why don't you just get the MSDN version over at MDLF, rip out the ei.cfg to release all versions retail + oem.

Interesting I download them from the VLSC and ripping the ei.cfg did not work. Hmm I think I will have to get the technet ones and compare.

I already said that because I tried the same thing. Your best of just getting the MSDN version over at MDLF and ripping the ei.cfg out of it.

Apologies I did notice you also had the issue, what is MDLF? I only have VLSC and MAPS access, I guess I will be getting it off the net.

Check my signature. I tried to rip out the ei.cfg from the VLK edition. Seems as though something else is stopping it been converted to all versions.

I see that it a Torrent in your signature for 21.5GB. Anyway of downloading, without having to download it all.

It might be worthwhile for people to do a sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt after the SP1 install, I had a few files that hadn't updated properly for some reason. Could just be my system though.

Very strange, possibly in use or something like that or file replace permissions. I just did a fresh OS 7 SP1 install to get around that problem.

The only file I personally noticed was one of the usb drivers in system32 was showing as unsigned in Autoruns and when I checked the file it was the pre SP1 version, after doing a sfc /scannow and rebooting the file had been replaced with the SP1 version and was no longer showing as unsigned in Autoruns.

[edit]

Appears to be a bug with the installer
