Well if people stay true to their coming and bringing of others too I think it will be a lot more ! :D

Realistically though I doubt the number will be that high - still a potentially great turn out though :)

Woe is me! my Jag will be coming with a scratch most likely, unless I get it sorted before, since a few weeks ago my parking sensors decided it was a wonderful idea to emit a continuous beep (the front ones) and then force themselves off, then work intermittently and now they just keep self disabling ...anyway I managed to tap a wall in a dark wet tavern car park and scratch the rear left corner (the wall was at an angle to the spaces) :( ...only the second time I have ever done anything like that in 9 years of driving ...the other time I had only been driving a year or so.

The Jag is having a bit of money spent on it now though, I just put two new headlight bulbs in since one failed on me last night, Halfords Ultra Brilliance something or other.

On the rather more expensive side it's having 4 new tyres on Monday, I have a slow puncture in one but all bar one are worn to the point that they would need replacing within the next 2-3k miles anyway ...so I figured I'd just get a new set. Not Pirelli as are on it now, since I'm not really a fan ...although they are standard fit on Jags, I decided to give Falken a try this time, I've had Goodyear Eagle F1s on the ST220 and the 540i ...so I thought I'd see how the much praised yet rather cheaper option actually handles, a lot of people on the Jag forums recommend them, apparently they are quieter than the Pirellis and have better wet weather grip ...dry is much the same by most accounts. To be honest though I wasn't looking for 'maximum' performance like I was the last couple of times I bought tyres for more performance oriented cars .. I was going more for comfort and low road noise as priorities.

I'm also going to look into replacing the rear brake pads and discs as they have been squealing for a while now, the rears wear very fast on these Jags, apparently due to the electronic park brake. Front ones were replaced under warranty due to vibration in December though.

Until now though it hasn't cost me a penny, and this is just maintenance anyway.

I thought about doing a 6 month ownership review, but there is little point beyond what I just wrote, it's like my old Jag only not such a nice colour and missing the V8, as I've said before I did prefer the other one but I couldn't afford another one like that at the time. I suppose I could now and I did toy with the idea of getting another black one, a newer one with higher spec etc ...but really there is no point at all as I'd get almost exactly the same experience from it, so I'm aiming to get some value out of this car, by keeping it longer than 6 months :p ...so I think maybe spring/summer 2012 I might look for another one. Right at this moment in time though, there is no car I would rather have this side of 20k than an XJ ...specifically an XJR but an XJ is an XJ, and most of the time I'd hardly know what engine was driving it anyway, since I mostly waft about like an old man these days.

Edit: Is it at all sad that I'm actually going to go out for a quick drive when I've had my dinner just to see how good or not those new bulbs are ? :p

Oh yea, them thar bulbs are good, big improvement over the old ones :)

Total swine to change them, but now I know the the secret it'll be fine next time.

Ah cheers bud, gonna push for a courtesy car too as they need it a whole day from cold (night before) and wanted £29 for me to borrow a car for the day.....rip off!:eek::(

I ended up leaving it there at 9am and they did the clearances at 4pm. I was running tight on time though. If you can leave it over night, you should.

For the record, I ended up in a Corsa :(

Is it too late to confirm a guaranteed run? Also i've never been to a dyno run before, but isn't 10minutes per run a bit optimistic, surely it would take almost that just to organise the cars on and off the dyno?

Edit: oh and its a 182 not 172 :D :p

Just because I can't be bothered to read 13 pages as I am lazy, what is the format of the day?

Are we all off to a pub etc as per usual or..?
