Cities in Motion - Possible Traffic Giant and Transport Tycoon type game- Out Q1 2011!

It's due for release on the 25th so I very much doubt the finished product is going to be much different from what we're seeing now.
This is likely just their final stage of testing to iron out small bugs and UI problems etc.

So after playing with the beta on/off for a few days I'm still unable to make a profit :( I started off by putting stops everywhere I could to cover the inner city, plenty of buses so passengers weren't waiting too long, fiddled with the fairs (usually in the red) to strike a nice balance between people waiting and profit. This didn't work as I quickly started loosing money.

Next thing I tried was to have 2 bus routes in the inner city covering slightly less than the last time (less stops = less maintenance), tram lines going around the out side and 2 bus routes taking passengers across the bridge to the factories. Fiddled with the staff wages and ticket fairs and also started a dedicated bus route with 1 bus to shuttle passengers from the airport to the city centre. Again this didn't work.

I have no idea where I'm going wrong, my staff are on the lowest possible wage (constantly changes due to the economy) and ticket fairs are usually quite high, so long as people are still willing to buy them.

I also changed the number of buses on each route to 2 or 3 but this also meant that lots of people were waiting and getting upset and I still lost money.

Has any of you guys managed to create a nice profitable game and are willing to share your secrets ? :)

Thanks for the heads up on this, looks very nice indeed and will continue my fix after playing sim city 3000 for a while if it plays as well as it looks.

SPARC I was able to make a profit early on by building a metro between 2 stations and upping the ticket prices to the red. I believe it's almost an exploit that even if you push the prices up massively people still pay them.

Its on Steam for £15 which is great i think, it'll be interesting to see how its received as a whole.

I must be honest, I got a bit bored of it. I wanted to do more than move people i.e. resources like oil, wood, food and other goods. I guess I'm looking for a Transpot Tycoon replacement with updated graphics and UI :(

Now this is the reason i want to get back into PC gaming.
something like this is a no no for consoles :D
im getting old i know.

its been 5 years since i had a gaming pc
but i take it that an I3 / I5 with GTX460 and 4 gigs ram is going to run this nicely ?

Anyone figured out how to make a profit yet. The beta just seems insanely difficult. Hope they retune it before release or do someting cause no matter what i do, no sustained profits. Have pre ordered and looking forward to the release.
