Mortal Kombat (2011)

MK2 and MK3 were the best. I remember playing this when being 15 or so. Good times :) Probably my best gaming moments ever.

This one looks like it might be fun for some time but somehow it lacks the smoothness and quickens of a proper 2d fighting game.

anyway...this game looks epic, the new vids make it look better and better - shame its coming out next year i want it now!

i want smoke in this game (if hes not already), and noob saibot and il be happy - oh and goro!!!!

Kitana uses the fans, and is dressed in blue - and was originally said to be M's sister. :p

Also, you can tell by their fighting styles. Mileena's true face under the mask looks like Baraka's - in other words the long teeth. Hence why she has cannibalistic tenancies, where as Kitana looks completely human.

I personally prefer Mileena as a character though.

I'm hoping a few others I liked such as Sheeva and Shang Tsung will be playable. The creators have stated it'll basically include the main set from MK1 - 3. :p

BTW - didn't realize other videos had been posted. I keep expecting videos to be embedded. :p

Either way... I'm reallyyyyy hoping this game doesn't suck. I'm holding out some hope that it actually isn't a cash cow, and then a month later no one plays it.

Happened to a few previous MK games... I really love the series. For some reason, I think it has so much personality.

EDIT: Oh and yeah, sounds like you are trying to educate me on MK! I was there man, back in the US when MK first arrived in the arcades, before the UK ever saw it. Those were the days!

are you going to admit now that you were wrong despite defending yourself twice? (should have really done your research tbh) i think most people know the difference in characters to know whos who!

I am really liking what I have seen so far but nobody has touched on the control scheme.

Having played the game since very first arcade machine appeared I can safely say I have always hated the non intuitive controls and I am sure I'm not alone.

#1 block should be back and not a button
#2 moves should be fluid and none of this back fow fow or back down fow back fow Hold block +a and b etc to do a simple move.

Sorry but i simply think having to press separate directions and 2 buttons in the heat of battle in a non sweeping motion (like streetfighter is sweeping etc) is just so off putting.Should bring in charge moves and sweeping motions basically copy the streetfighter control schemes.

I just looks like every other Mortal Kombat, but with better gfx and some nice special moves. Im hoping its a lot more than this though because I love MK.
 
I like the look of this game esp the X-ray and the Kung Lao fatality. Look's like it's an improvement over some of the other drab Mortal Kombat games.
