Looking to replace my BB7's (203F/160R) with some hydros, and need some advise/help choosing

Currently looking at either the Shimano Deore M595 or SLX M665, with some superstar disc.

The cheaper M595 are suppose to be more powerful but the SLX's come with Servo-Wave which increases rotor clearance which i like the idea off (hate rotors rubbing slightly, which i have all the time with the BB7's because they need to be so close to the rotor to generate any power)

My only concern is that i've read mineral oil doesn't deal with heat very well and that sintered pads aren't recommended. This true? because What mountain bike actually recommend switching to sintered pads once the originals are dead.

Anything else in this price range i should be looking at? Want something reliable for mainly XC and some DH/AM riding. I'm 15 stone and there for a Hardtail.

You should be ok with the SLXs. My saints handled heat just fine. 4 years of abuse in the alps (whole seasons) and racing dh...
As for break pads cheapest is best for me as the power was fine with any type.

I have Avid Elixr CRs now and I love having those adjustments.

Ah, weird camera angle :p

This is how a Shadow rear mech cabling should look:

Anyone had experience with Alligator I-links?

I have been looking to change the cables on my bike because my shifting has become slow after a whole winter of riding. I use Low-Normal which is particularly bad.

My current setup is standard Jagwire cable outers lubed with Rock'n'roll cable lube which I got on well with before I changed to Low-Normal.

I heard that going to some sort of sealed cable would improve things.

I did some googling and heard good things about the followings:

Alligator I-Links
Nokon
Gore ride-on
Shimano XTR
Powercorz
Jagwire Rip cord

I kind of have my heart set on Alligator I-Links as they look very good and are cheaper than the likes of Nokon/Powercorz.

However, I would like to hear other people's opinion before I go and spend £40 on some cables.

I've used the Nokon before, I love how short you can make the cable runs at the front of the bike and how you can run just the liner full length to keep it sealed.

snip brakes snip
If they are rubbing, then you've not aligned the caliper properly.
BB7's are superb when setup properly :)

But, if you're looking for relatively cheap, good performance hydro brakes. What about Formula? I'd recommend them anyday :)
K18's / K24's on a Hardtail are fine.

There's always the Hope line of brakes ;)

Edit: Shimano brakes; personally I would never touch them. Every brake that I've tried from Shimano has been poor. No power, fading. Generally crap. Whether or not they were bled properly I dont know, but I won't be touching them. Others however, will say different probably.

I have the mini-i-links on the Heckler. The gear cable isn't that great but the outers are good. As you can see from the pic I posted you can run some really tight angles. The only downside is they can be a real pain to set up first time. That and they are ****ing expensive.

Looks good, up and down the same path or different route? any pics?

Repeats on the same climb. Check the Garmin link playback. I love how close the lap times are for the first couple of ascents and descents (1 and 12 are to and from the train).

I posted this view from the top 3 weeks ago.

I've never done repeats up Bear Mountain on my road bike like I did yesterday on the MTB. I'm going to have to look for my single climb and descent info to compare.
