Hi Guys,
SO, i was about to buy all the parts to build my own rig, but then after the intel fiasco i decided to wait, now my laptop has broken and i want to get a new one first...

My old laptop was a dell xps m1530, a really nice laptop, high res screen 1920x1200 and quite slim

after taking a quick look at the current xps range though i wasnt impressed, the only thing i have seen which i do like are the macbook pros. Can someone please advise me why i shouldnt a macbook pro and possibly suggest a suitable alternative.

I have a Lenvo t410. I love it. Built quality is great. I used to be a big dell fan. Then I went to a sony VAIO. Now I have the T410. It's not quite as slim as some others on the market, but it is sturdy, and (so far) has worked perfectly.

on that note, does anyone know how the macbook pro runs windows?

Also i dont think i mind paying a little more for the looks, the XPS was well battered after 2 years, i jus want something which will hold up well for a good length of time

It would just be used to scope about the internet, download videos and do emails, nothing professional except maybe a little Qt programming :D and source obviously... Ohh and I will be able to get power most of the time, but I would like to be able to watch a film in the bath without dragging in an extension cable :)
