OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

Okay, we think we've repaired that chunk. Basically by using an old backup of just that small area. This may mean that that part of the world is a couple of days out of date but at least it's mostly there.

Server is up and running - mc.net still down.

I certainly hope so - got all my chests/ equipment there, and the robot took quite some time to build.

Absolutely outstanding work :D

For those who weren't on IRC you have no idea the endless hours of effort FT has put into identifying the issues, repairing the corrupted map and restoring the damage to prevent a rollback. A very difficult and complex task. It seems that the damage was most likely caused by a nasty server crash, reading up about this shows it has occurred to other servers but they failed to repair.

So hug your admin (in a manly way) ;)
 
Omg... so have you guys restored that area? My building, rhymins towers, the monorail.. can't believe such a massive area was effected. And right where I built... :(
 
By the looks of things minecraft.net could be down for a few days. This gives FT the chance to make any further changes - if he still has the patience or inclination.
 
It's an assumption. The whole team has flown out to the USA, so depending on what the problems with the server are it could take a while.
 
They will have remote access to fix the issues.
My guess is they will fix it when they land and get to
an internet connection to reboot and re-log the server.

I believe the main issues they were having with the login server
is the data pool. they know how to flush it and get it going again.

they really need to fix this issue big time as this is causing so many issues

it is because of the datapool
have you been able to get into a server or SP mode
SP is fine it is getting onto the server host that si the issue.
Not all players have the issue but a lot do.

It is known by the staff that is is an issue
