Here's the order of events. My cousin in laws 14 year old kid was walking home when she tripped up and scraped her knee and hand on the floor. Blood, tears, you know the deal. no broken bones or anything just a few scrapes.

The security guard from topshop saw and took her up to the office (one of her mates went with them up to the office because she wanted to), the guard cleaned her up and put a bandage on both her knee and her hand from the first aid kit, offered to call an ambulance - the kid said no thanks and walked home. End of post? I'm afraid not :(

She got home and told her mum how nice the guard was. Her mum immediately stormed down the the shopping place (kid dragged along with her by the hand, my wife following because she didn't know what else to do) and started screaming at the security guard in front of everyone that he was a peado that has taken the opportunity to touch up her daughter's leg and how filthy he was, people like him make her sick, etc etc etc.

I mean real screaming in the street at him for 20 minutes - about 200 people stopped and watched apparently. The security guy didn't know what to do with himself - he retreated into the shop (from the doorway) and she just followed him on in. Whereever he went he could not get away from her. The manager came along but didn't know what was going on so just kept out of it (some weak women who just seemed flustered)!!!! The really sad thing is that 2 complete strangers walking past, looked like builders, went up and 'body checked' the guard and then got right in his face (like one of their noses 2 cm from the security guys nose) saying 'you a peado mate? you want me to smash your face in mate' etc. pretty nasty and shocked my missus who still didn't know what to do (!!).

Then my wife's sister called the police on him (saying he'd abused her kid). The police interviewed the man for 45 minutes although they didnt arrest him it was in the topshop office. the daughter got briefly interviewed, and that was it.

We haven't seen the guy at work again since, although i do not know the story there ...

my wifes sister doesn't think she has done anything wrong at all - I challenged her, and her big ape-like husband starts out with 'you defending peados mate? You're in my house sitting next to my kid, defending peados?'.

The wierd thing is the 14 year old kid on seeing this reaction has now started mouthing off to everyone that the perv at topshop made her feel dirty etc all round the school apparently, of which about 400 kids a day walk past topshop :(

Don't know what to do now :( Just have to let it go ... had to rant here though ....

Stop hanging around morons, even if they are your family.

And your wife's sister is lucky the guard has a pretty mild disposition (and is at work), she would have been on the floor in tears if I had to put up with some random bint screaming BS at me for 5 minutes let alone 20.

Sound's like a nut-case. But isn't your wife's sister your sister-in-law not your cousin-in-law?

Next time he'll just leave the kid in the street, screaming.

Pathetic behaviour from the parents, absolutely pathetic. They are what is wrong with society, IMHO.

Agree with the 1st sentiment but if you're being accused of being a kiddy fiddler, it's probably not the best idea in the world to give some woman a bit of a clip!

It's this type of attitude with people today that would make me wary to help out a kid in distress. You can't even say hello to a teenager these days without people questioning your motives.

That's ridiculous. I'm sure that this fella didn't do anything other than be a good samaritan. I bet now that the mum went off on one that the girl won't actually admit that he did nothing wrong.....that is compensation culture gone mad with blame and it's stopping people being compassionate to other human beings :(

...the world is becoming a cold place

In this age of equal opportunities, no sexism, etc ... some people just deserve a clip to knock some sense into them

This is where you say: They are distant family, only just related through marriage.

And why do people want to call paedo's there mate? :s Sound like you have a Paedo family. OMGZ, to Jeremy Kyle!

Only a total scumbag could turn a kind - no, scrub that a COMMON SENsE act into one where the guy gets threatened and possibly loses his livelihood. Nice.

Some people read too much Daily Star.

Some people.... She could have pretty much ruined this guys life by being such an unthinking moron. Makes you think twice about being nice to others if this is how it 'could' turn out.
