Chris Moyles 37hour show!

I like his show, makes my drive much better and he's the only reason I listen to radio 1. Just gutted they make him play sooo much crap music, I remember the good old days when I could drive 40mins to work and here maybe 1/2 songs, good times!

Scott mills is ok, but the rest is rubbish.

Also a quick google show his wage to be about £450k, is that true??

So much negativity in this thread for people raising money for charity! Why does the money have to be raised fighting alligators and crocodiles?
It doesn't, it's just that I find there to be a bit of a disconnect between being asked to give to charity when I don't feel the people doing the asking are really giving themselves. As a reverse example Eddie Izzard doing 43 marathons in 51 days was fantastic, he personally put a hell of a lot into it.

He's ok if you are at work and it's on in the background wouldn't set out to listen to him anywhere else though.

that's roughly right, it was over £600k before he accepted two pay cuts, a fraction of what terry wogan was on

Surely if they are on as guests when other DJs are on, it isn't a 37 hour show, it's their usual show then once that is finished they contribute towards other shows.

Does anybody know if he's getting paid for this and if/how much he is donating?
I was arguing with a friend a while ago who says his mountain climbing thing was a waste of time and money because he got paid for it and if he just donated a tenth of his pay check there would be no need for red nose day ect ect (Daily Fail reader)

Moyles is one of the reasons I switched to Radio 2 and I'm glad I did. Chris Evans is actually rather good now, he doesn't seem as big headed as he once was.

Moyles will be controlling the desk the same as he does on his own show and they have to contribute to all the links so its more the usual DJ's will guest on his extended show rather than the other way around.

None of the kilimanjaro celebs got paid.
I'd imagine Moyles won't get paid any extra for this although it will take in 2 of his normal working days so he'll get paid for those obviously.

Is it not a case of it being the other way round? would make more sense having it as the Chris Moyles show and the likes of Annie Mac (or whoever's slots he's taking) coming in as guests to his show and doing guest mixes etc.

Personally I like the Chris Moyles show, not sure why there's so much hate to be honest.

The way I'd understood it from reading about 1/3rd of this thread was that he'd be the guest. I agree though, him being in control and the others being guests would make a huge amount more sense but then it also gives me the thinking 'why bother' with regards to having the other DJs as guests, just give'em the time off. :p

Mainly because Comic Relief gets on my **** as it is (whole other discussion) and again because Moyles is employed by a state run and funded broadcaster for something in the region of £600k a year.

So we're supposed to give the fat ******* a metaphorical blowy for being so damn generous with his time? Do me a favour pal. For £600k a year I could do more for charity than spend 37 hours making Radio 1 even more unbearable than usual.

Ohh right im sorry, damn...ive totally changed my mind...I keep forgetting the people that are employed and state payed to stand beside you all day...holding a shotgun to yoru head...screaming about how you MUST listen to the full 37 hrs..or even 10 minutes of it....keep forgetting about that.

He stands to the right of me by the way..on the left I have Lenny Henry holding another gun to my genitals shouting how I have to text in £1 every 1hr that hes on...quite a crowd around here!

Wow! A 37 Chris Moyles show. From my now blessedly infrequent "opportunities" to catch his show, I'd estimate he'll probably play about 5 songs in all that time and fill in the rest of the time with his pointless blathering. I'm sure he'll raise lots of money but I certianly won't be wasting any time on this attempt (as a radio show).

Well I only caught about five minutes of his show this morning but he did say he would be controlling the desk himself and the others would come on in there usual time slot and sit on the other side of the desk in the same manner any other guest on the show would.

They're all freelance, time off = no pay.

37 hours of that gob *****. :( Okay, so he's probably the least annoying of the Radio 1 mob, but I'd still happily wipe the whole lot out with a machine gun.

Fearne Cotton would be first.
