Beard for job interview?

As long as it's neat and tidy then it's not going to make any difference.

I'd go with this. Unless its for a very old school type of firm who are regimental in their dress codes. In which case, I'd consider getting rid.

I've had a beard since I could grow one but have removed it for most serious job interviews, struggling to remember if I did for my current job.
I don't think it looks bad in any way, but there are people out there who simply don't like beards, and I think it is more likely to do your chances harm than good (no matter how small the impact either way might be)

If it looks anything like mine did in a month, suggest you shave!

Thanks, some interesting views, I think I may keep it, like I say, it is neat, I shave up my neck quite high and shave my cheeks and edge off the moustache area, so its a clean outline, then I go over it with number 1 or 2 clippers so its all uniform.

I havent been clean shaven in ages now. I only trim down to a number 1 ish and then it grows more beard-like and I trim back down when it's built up. I dont mind them, can see why some wouldn't but it's your style!

As long as it is a beard and doesn't just look like you have not bothered shaving for a while and as long as it's neat and tidy then I don't see the problem.

Have had to spend a pile of last week looking over IT CVs, and being astonished at the poor quality of them, congratulations on getting an interview ...

Thanks, well it's actually a 2k pay cut from what I'm on now, doing exactly the same thing, but I'm currently contracting, so: paid holidays! yay! more security! yay! and no more hatefull umbrella companies and all the nonsense that comes with that! yay!

I got my last 2 jobs whilst equipped with a beard. As long as it's neat and trimmed it should not be an issue, trim your cheeks/neckline etc so it has a defined edge.

Don't just go to work looking like I normally do, looking like I haven't shaved for ages.

some interviewers will not like it, no one will have an issue if you were clean shaved, why risk it ?

TBH, if it's the kinda company who's going to care, you've pretty much dodged a bullet if they reject you because of it.
