Cheapest way to borrow 10k?

anyway, assuming he can't do this and can't get from family then I would look at unsecured personal loan, I currently pay 7.4% APR on mine, was 5.8% on previous loans before credit crunch :(

don't rule out finance though car dealer but be very careful and be aware thatn they will usually quote the much lower flat rate then the APR, they will often be reluctant to tell you the APR even though they have to by law

Its for a house we are looking at buying. No mortgage but £10k short so looking at all possibilities. Wife has refused to go back on the streets!! lol

Unlucky for you :p

*strokes £3500 interest free loan*

Might work for you, but maybe not for your mate if you suddenly can't pay it back. Nothing worse than money to cause nightmares between friends or family IMO.

I lent a mate 7.5K a few years ago, and while he's paid the vast majority of it off, I'm still p'd off that he's messing me around for the last grand of it! Considering small claims.
