A new law being drafted by a Tory local Government in the Capital where it will soon be illegal to:

1 ) Lie Down on the Ground
2 ) Give away, or allow anyone else to give away food or drink for free. (Unless for marketing purposes ). This will force all of the companies who currently quietly give away old stock to put that food in the bin instead. It will also criminalise charities that run soup kitchens.
3.Be homeless. Homeless people are to be fined.

Link to article and Draft law : Link

It seems to me like its aimed at 2 groups of people. The obvious one being homeless it seems as though they see free food and the ability to sleep in London is attracting homeless people to the capital and its becoming a burden.

The other group of people i could see this effecting would be Protesters. It takes away there ability to camp out in the streets and makes it harder to protest by taking away there food distribution for example like they had at Parliament square.

I think it has been aimed at homeless people for the sole reason of getting public backing as everyone dislikes getting hassled or seeing people on the street , But in reality i see this law as going after protesters, and what better way then to get them indirectly and causing minimal fuss as this is how politicians seem to work.

So do you see this actually happening?

bang-bang-bang.

cops gun them down like a pair of brazilian electricians. welcome to london.

It's interesting to see that people STILL just read a few bits of an article, but not all the article.

This doesn't apply to the WHOLE of London, just a small area in/around Westminster.

Sounds like a bit of make believe.....got a reputable source?

No other then the draft law which is at the bottom. If there is a site where you can check the draft laws then im sure you would be able to see it there if its true?

So basically it's removing the problem from around the elite so they don't have to see it and therefore concern themselves with it?

And people STILL dont read the entire article :

"However, once these fundamentally foreign principles are written in to law, the legal precedent will be established and the boundaries will be a mere technicality. "

It would be political suicide to suddenly have a blanket ban as this gains far to much negative attention. The best ways to remove things such as freedoms are gradually.

Well you cant have a law that says you cant lie on the ground the ground doesnt belong to anyone its free like air is.

Fine, homeless people how? Force them to sell a kidney?

What the hell has it got to do with anyone if some kind people give food away to those that need it to survive?

And nope i just read op and probs not all of it. :p

How does fining homeless people work?

Like this:

Cop: Are you homless?
Person: Yes
Cop: £50 fine, pay up or go to jail
Person: (assuming they can somehow pay it) Can I go now?
Cop: Yes. On your way

After person walks a couple of steps.

Cop: Hey! Are you homeless?
Person: What? You know I am!
Cop: £50 fine!

Repeat until the homeless person runs out of cash.

Nowhere does it state that it will be illegal to be homeless or that homeless people will be fined for being homeless. Excellent work OP
