New Corsair Obsidian 650D

FYI the Corsair Tech Specs for the 650D list the Front I/O as (x4) USB 2.0, (x1) USB 3.0, (x1) IEEE1394, Headphone and Mic. Hence it does support USB3, but probably as a pass-through cable rather than via mobo header.

still find it odd announcing and listing a case not due for another almost 4 months/

looks a quality case, but gonna go with the fractual XL myself hopefully.

I always wanted the 800d but it was just too big for the space I have. This case is what I've been waiting for, a solid smart looking non-plasticy mid tower.

USB 3 be damned, I think this looks great. I think the 700D is too pricey and the 600T is too plasticy. This looks like the ideal compromise between the two.

It's the same sort of price as the RV02, HAF X and Colossus, I think this certainly looks best, plus the cable management should be at least as good as the 600T.

Case was presented on Cebit, 2x 200mm + 1x 120mm fans, 1x USB 3.0
Wonder what the price is going to be like.

What on earth were they thinking with the side panel? I mean, what is wrong with thumb screws? All the quality cases use them- they will allow you to open your case in seconds and the rest of the time they stay nicely hidden away at the back. Those clips are pointless and look ugly as hell. Although it would probably never happen, it worries me having a spring loaded plastic clip on both sides of my motherboard tray as I would worry one would spring out and damage the system. Also, the clips mean that the window needs to be moved downwards giving you a good view of your... PSU? Then they have put that ridiculous frame around the window that makes it look even more tacky. What's wrong with having it neatly on the inside like on other quality cases and the 800D?

What were Corsair thinking? Seems to be a exploitation of the 800D by making a toned down version for those who liked the 800D, but couldn't get it for whatever reason. They completely destroyed the elegant look of the original with this case.

Am I correct in saying there is no front bezel available for this case? That is a huge mistake imo and completely ruins the look which lian-li cases pull off as a result. Infact I have a lian-li case right in front of me with one on hiding the ugly dvd drive from the brushed aluminium.

I'm really considering getting this case but just so I'm clear, what other choices are there in the 100-140 max price range that can compete with this case? I beleive the cosmos s is in it, though no longer sold by overclockers. They sell the sport and silent instead.

Hi. Will the 600t and/or 650d handle temps from a gtx 460 in sli?

I'm going to build a sandy bridge, gtx 460 sli rig and need a case. Ideally I'd like a window, usb 3 and (I think, a side panel fan).

I have the 800D with GTX 460 SLI. At the moment on the stock coolers (MSI Cyclone) they idle at about 40 degrees OC'd. When pushing them the highest I have seen is 65 and 60. My Sandy Bridge @ 4.4GHz on a Corsair H50 idles at 26, at maximum it hits 40. Although in the coming weeks i'm watercooling the CPU and GPU's so will be intrigued by temps then :) and I will of course upload all the pics to here when I am done.

For those of you mentioning the 700/800D USB 3.0 issue, go check this out: http://www.corsair.com/pressrelease/corsair-announces-usb-3.0-upgrade-kit-for-obsidian-series-cases. I haven't seen it available in the UK yet but i'm sure they will start appearing soon enough.

Thanks for this thread I was undecided on what case I wanted until I clicked that link for the 650 to have a look and I stumbled on the 800D and now I am decided many thanks for pointing me in that direction.

Was just trying to work myself up into buying the 800D and now this...

Choices. 800D is still nicer, IMO, but this is slightly smaller (which is almost a plus), and cheaper. =\ Humtum.

Judging from the 600t, which uses the same fans, people say that 2x 120mm will push more air due to the 200m fan being too shallow.
